Our room had a beautiful view of the harbour. We hired bikes from the main lobby and spent a day exploring Vancouver. A taxi waiting outside the door was helpful.

FAQ about cottages in Vancouver

Outstanding Capital of the Outdoors

An outdoorsy city ranking among the world’s most livable, Vancouver is sheltered by Vancouver Island and the Pacific Range mountains. The most famous peak, Grouse Mountain is a favourite spot for hiking and skiing. Take the cable car up for magnificent views of the city's skyscrapers and huge Stanley Park.

Skirting this park is the Seawall, a popular biking trail with paths passing the Vancouver Aquarium, picnic spots and a pitch ‘n’ putt course. There are also a couple of beaches, but the best ones are along English Bay in Kitsilano.

Granville Island is just across False Creek from Yaletown and houses some quirky shops and markets. Ferries depart from here to near BC Place Stadium and home ground of the city’s football and American football teams. The legendary Vancouver Canucks ice hockey team play next door at Rogers Arena.

With the largest Chinatown in North America, Gastown is the oldest part of Vancouver and is near the Canada Place cruise ship terminal.

We could go on and on about British Columbia’s largest city and never do it justice, so why not try it for yourself? Booking.com has a fabulous range of accommodation, from hotels near Vancouver Airport in Richmond to downtown B&Bs and motels near each of its ferry ports.

Vanouver is a vibrant city and has a large amount of tourist attractions and outdoor areas to visit. Public transport is easy to use with a single ticket for Sea Bus (Ferry to north Vancouver) Trains and buses. Would recommend a day pass to use for all three at a very reasonable cost.

We spent 4 days here and visited Stanley Park, Capilano Suspension Bridge and Granville Island ( the rain came down on us ). Shopped at Robson St and lunched there. We booked a hop on - hop off for a day and visited Gastown, Chinatown, Stanley Park, Granville Island, it.s worth the price.

I have lived in many cities across Canada, Vancouver will and has always been without hesitation the absolute best city in every way. Food, atmosphere, surrounded by water, beautiful weather. Easy city to get around, the Hop On Hop Off takes you to all the beautiful sites, like Canada Place where you can see all the cruise ships and then walk over to Gastown and see the steam clock. Also beautiful Stanley Park. There are other things to do, and wonderful restaurants with terrific food.

This is a beautiful city with beautiful views of the mountains and sea. There are cultural, sport and shopping facilities in the area. Stanley park is well worth a visit particularly to walk or bicycle and there are lots of cycle hire shops nearby for the purpose. China town isn't as vibrant as it was last time we visited over 20 years ago, confirmed by the bus driver who spoke about its decline. He also advised that we shouldn't walk between China town and the Steam clock destination for personal safety. Otherwise I walked alone around my hotel and felt safe. There is a good transport system around Vancouver although I generally walked locally to Stanley park, to the Waterfront and the downtown shopping area.

The service was phenomenal - much better than a lot of 5* hotels out there. All members of the staff were accommodating of all our requests! Coupled with brand new features, state of the art amenities and prime location at the heart of Vancouver downtown, steps away from my WeWork office spaces for work. The in-hotel XYLIA Spa was phenomenal too. Karma lounge has good food, and it is certainly a vibe to see your hotel having a nightclub down your elevators ;)

Our room in this non-profit hotel was small and pretty basic, but we weren't planning to stay inside during our weekend in Vancouver anyway! It was clean, the staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, and the price is a complete bargain for the area. The location is great for accessing the arena, stadium, Gastown and all the downtown attractions. We will definitely be return visitors and would recommend the hotel for active visitors to downtown Vancouver.

They had a diffuser attachment in the bathroom for the hair dryer which was fantastic, first time I have seen that in a hotel as most of the time hotel bathroom amenities don't cater to curly haired people! One side of the hotel gets a brilliant view of Vancouver from the higher rooms - so opt for those. Absolutely brilliant location for downtown, great for walking around. Lovely staff, very pleasant and helpful and cheery.

Loved the Wedgewood hotel. Bed was extremely comfortable decor tasteful in keeping with the style of the hotel. The spa treatment I experienced was exceptional with a highly capable therapist. There is a lovely bar where we enjoyed bar food on the evening of our arrival which was ideal after the fatigue of a long haul flight. The location at the centre of downtown Vancouver is a major plus in getting to know the city
