Kathmandu is a very busy city. As it was our first time in Nepal, we decided to stay in Kathmandu instead of flying to other touristy places like Pokhara. And we didn't regret the decision. We enjoyed the trip and the overall experience was amazing. Hopefully we can go back there again and explore other cities. Nepal has a very rich history, it's amazing.

Kathmandu is a beautiful city full of interesting places to visit. I really love Bhaktapur ,Patan, boudhhanath ,walking around in Thamel . Thamel has many restaurants and shopping options . I love the people of Nepal ,the whole culture and jatras and festivals . Pollution and dust is the only thing I don't like about Kathmandu.

Stay away from Kathmandu especially Thamel if you can, it is noisy, polluted, dirty. As pedestrian you share the narrow alleys with hundreds of Nepalese scooter and motorbikes riders, who drive dangerously passed you, without a care about your safety. I recommend to wear masks if you don't want your lung to be filled with hazardous smog. There is an app called AirVisual which tells you how bad the air quality is in and around Kathmandu. I recommend to stay as little in Kathmandu as possible, take a taxi or bus to Bhaktapur and use it as your base instead! It has beautiful sights of historical temples walking distance away, is less overrun by scooters and hotels are very nice and are cheaper, food is delicious: try the local highly praised juju dhau (yoghurt type dessert), souvenirs are higher quality and cheaper.

There are a lot of historical places to see nearby and some nice nature excursions through day trips as well. A lot to explore in terms of culture and shopping. It can be a little dusty and polluted at times so better to wear a mask when walking around the city.

Location wise hotel is located main tourist hub in Thamel.I was impressed by the staffs members, they were very very attentive and helpful.Excellent breakfast was served in morning I loved Amaryllis breakfast set.Room was newly renovated with new mattress and all furniture was new,so very clean and big enough room, with very high pressure of hot water. They have a beautiful mini garden with different varieties of blooming flowers, which you really felt like home.We would highly recommend this hotel for your pleasant stay in Kathmandu.
This was my third stay in Kathmandu and the best hotel experience so far. The hotel is located just few streets away from Thamel’s craziness but in such a quite point. Perfect location, great friendly staff. Rabin was texting us even before we arrived in Kathmandu and during our stay he and other staff members were extremely helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable, breakfast was ok. Check in and checkout experience was good also. I would stay there next time again.
Booking at this hotel was unplanned and very last minute for us. However, we were surprised by their warm hospitality and a free upgrade to one of their bigger rooms. Hotel is only walking distance to the Kathmandu Durbar square, Thamel shopping market and the best eateries. Owner Jayaram, Sandeep, Shanta and Thara ensured our stay was comfortable and safe. Breakfast spread is amazing with a lot options for fresh food to choose from. Very vibrant and lively location.
I've stayed several times in Thamel and there are a lot of hotels to choose from in a variety of budgets. I chose the Maya Boutique Hotel because of the location and price. The bed was very comfortable and the room was a decent size. I stayed initially for 4 nights and returned for another two after a short trip out of the city. One of the best thing about the hotel was the friendliness of the staff. Water, tea and coffee were available all day for no charge.
I loved staying at Hotel Thamel. The accommodations are great, the rooms are clean, the breakfasts were delicious. The hotel is located in the center of Thamel, so close to lots of shops and easy to get around. The staff are extremely kind and welcoming, available for whatever I needed. When I got sick with the flu at the hotel the manager checked on me daily and even brought me a fruit basket! I'll definitely stay here on my next trip to Kathmandu.
The staff were so incredibly kind and friendly. Everyone from the desk staff to the restaurant staff were very helpful and eager to do whatever they could to assist us. The location is fantastic--it is close enough to walk into Thamel, but just outside the noisiest parts. The hotel is set just far back enough from the street that it is surprisingly quiet. For Kathmandu, anyway. The outdoor seating at the restaurants is incredibly pleasant.
Superb hotel and very hard to fault. Customer service was easily the best I experienced throughout my 3 months in Nepal, nothing was too much trouble for Raj and David at the front desk. Rooms are big, light and spacious and cleaned daily to 5 star quality. Place is tucked away down a quiter alley in thamel but just a short 2min walk to restaurants and the crazyness of the area. A very good standard breakfast is also included in the price.
MileStone Hotel located is in the heart of the Thamel,
Mr.Sabal Guragain is Most Experienced and Good Person on Hotel Reception. God Bless you Sabal Guragain
We never Forget you. We Wish you Best of Luck for your Bright Future,
Lots of Lots Verities of breakfast. Great
Rooftop restaurant and bar was Great.
Clean Room and helpful staff with good hospitality.
I will recommend this property who visit Thamel Kathmandu Nepal
We had a warm welcome by very friendly staff. The rooms were exceptionally clean, and we felt that they were very observant to travellers' needs. Special thanks to Sonika, she was genuinely very caring, kind, and professional. The hotel might be 3 stars, but the service was definitely 5 out of 5 stars. We went there back again, and they were generous to add breakfast on our second visit for free.
There is so much to like about this hotel that is tucked down a side street, off the main hustle and bustle of Thamel. The staff is incredibly helpful, the buffet breakfast is delicious and plentiful (there’s even an eggs to order station) and a nice rooftop pool and chill spot. All of this for a very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend Divine Kathmandu Hotel to anyone.
This hotel was like a 2nd home for us in Kathmandu. The staff were so welcoming and warm and always took good care of everything we needed with a smile on their face. The location is perfect near the thamel in a very local and relaxing neighborhood fae enough from the noicy main roads. We definitely recommend choosing this hostel when visiting Kathmandu.
this is the best value of money for staying here, new towel ,new mattress, new blanket and all clean like Japanese hotel, good toilet but little dirty inside the basin, there are several food shops around the hotel ,inside the room is quiet and no air pollution,13 times to visit Kathmandu and this hotel is the best of all staying with the budget
Rooftop restaurant offers wonderful expansive views to the North and West and is a great place to linger after breakfast or in the late afternoon. Most hotels in Kathmandu are boxed in because of the density, so the view here is one of the best Waitstaff was very hospitable and made excellent lattes.
Ultra modern facilities all of which worked perfectly. Excellent staff from the owner and his wife always around and the manager down to the domestic staff . Undoubtedly the best small boutique in Kathmandu. I’ve stayed in numerous hotels in Thamel and this is the best .
Location is excellent, right in the center of Thamel. For a budget hotel this is excellent value for the money.
Breakfast is a bit skimpy, but so are most hotels in Nepal.
The staff is super friendly and helpful. We would stay there again on our next trip
Great hotel, the best part is the staff that will do everything in their power to make your stay enjoyable!
The neighbourhood is really quiet compared to Thamel (in a good way) and it is a 20 min walk to Thamel.
One of the best hotel location in Thamel, Kathmandu.
They have amazing service and hospitality. The room was comfortable, and the environment is peaceful. Everything clean and good amenities, hughly recommended.
Pleasent stay . Staff are Nice attentive. Management provided service of transportation with out any problem. I rate this hotel as best and will visit again when I tour Kathmandu
