Amazing staff, loved the daily complimentary cocktail & canapes. Great food & drinks. No kids definitely a plus & paddle boards, kayaks to use. Great snorkelling off the beach

We stayed for 3 nights here. The room had a comfy bed with good aircon. We made good use of the free snorkeling equipment. The overall place is nicely looked after and clean with friendly staff.

Location was great, right in front of water and walking distance to Muri Beach where you can get paddle boards (and a lot more) and boat trips. Also has a Night Market with excellent food options. There's a little store across the street and a decent Mini Market/ Gas Station up the road.

Avarua is pretty small with a Mall and few shops, supermarket, pharmacy, hardware stores etc. lots of take away and restaurant and a bit of night life, quiet, little traffic, nice people. Prices for clothing and souvenirs are high, I did not buy anything... The Saturday market is quite big with produce, clothing, etc. In Rarotonga on Sunday everything is closed (you cannot buy alcohol) although you can get take away and there are minimarkets open 24 hours ! Also hotels restaurants are open. It is cheaper to eat out compare to buy food and cook in. Food is good, wine prices acceptable. Not a big selection of food thou depending on the ships who bring the food in. It is a small island you must remember.

We had a beautiful stay at nevaehs holiday home.
We had a beautiful stay at nevaehs holiday home. The house was perfect for us, Desmond was also a good host! Looked out for us and made sure our stay was perfect, very close to town and the perfect place for a big crowd. But we enjoyed our stay and thank Desmond for also letting us use the car throughout our entire stay. We will definitely come again.

Avarua has great markets that are very busy on Saturday mornings with a nice vibe. A few good restaurants there. Trader Jacks is always good. We quite enjoyed 'The Islander' for the view, meals and drinks as well. It is quite underwhelming from the road.
The Rarotongan Brewery is also a good stop in Avarua.
You just need to be aware that Saturday from the afternoon until Monday morning, not much is open in Avarua.
