Sligo itself was ok but to be honest we stayed because it was central to the area we wanted to explore.
If you go to Sligo don’t miss Glencar Waterfall and the Devils Chimney. Also Achill island make sure you follow the coast

I judge a place by its people, and to me they make you feel very welcome. Myself &the Mrs go to Sligo Town, at least six times a year for 2/ 3 days at a time. Its home from home, great food , great bars, Trad music, and great to relax. Love Sligo

We were mostly in the Strandhill area which is beautiful. Lots of places to eat and drink. Beautiful beach area where surfers were surfing, and Knocknarea to climb if you have the legs for it! Dinner at The Venue and best we’ve had so far.
The Strand Bar was fantastic too. Fresh sweet seafood!

Sligo is a lovely place, both for itself and its location to explore lots of interesting places nearby. There are lots of cafes and restaurants to suit every taste.
The man in the tourist office was so nice and helpful. We were sorry that we couldn't go on the walking tour It sounded very interesting .
The one way traffic system is a bit confusing but we got used to it quickly. Actually, I'd advise people to park the car and just walk.. its much quicker.
The Riverside Hotel was very centric but in a quiet area, overlooking the river and close to the lovely promenade. The rooms were modern, the shower was glorious, the staff at reception, restaurant & bar and room service were super polite and kind. Everything was very clean and I even loved the pine/woody scent in the room I was about to ask what products they use to use them at home.
Enjoyed also the terrace over the river at the Ripples café. I would love to return to Sligo soon.
Extremely clean with everything you could possibly need for your stay. Desi and Mary are two of the nicest, generous people I have ever met. The value they added to our stay was spectacular. We met them as strangers but left them a few days later feeling like they were family. Do yourself a favor and book your stay at the Sligo Sea Barn. Breathtaking views and amazing community with lots to do. You will not be disappointed!
Restaurant food was excellent.
Young staff were the best and most attentive of any hotel I've stayed in Ireland. I mean that.
Kids were manerly , attentive clean listened to what they were told by us, was no issue to go to kitchen to check requests. Mature beyond years.
Those who served us as well as the others moving about. Please tell them same..
Staff trainer top marks.
The staff was great and offered ideas of where to go and what to see. We were offered a map even before we asked for one. We had breakfast before we left for the train station. I tried the light brown breakfast pudding as I had heard of it, but never tried it. Now I can say I tried it, but I'm not really a fan. Sligo is such a beautiful place. I need to do some more research so I will be back.
EVERYTHING (deliberately in capital letters). This is a phenomenal hotel and undoubtedly the most spectacular place we've ever visited.
The staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was amazing and we already can't wait to go back. We would highly recommend the Markee Castle to ANYONE.
The location was a short walk from Sligo city centre. The host was very easy to reach by phone and was very helpful. The house was clean, warm and comfortable. On arrival there was a basket with snacks in the kitchen and a little welcome note!
Price compared to hotels in sligo but when you add price of taxis into town and buying your own breakfast it might work out same price.
Very spacious lots of room family of 4.
Girl at reception very helpful.
This was our second time staying at the Sligo park hotel. As per our previous stay the staff were welcoming and friendly, the room was spacious and very clean.
The leisure club is also a great facility.
Sorry, I forgot the man's name who helped us. I want to say it was Frank? :) - He was great. He was very flexible and knowledgeable. I would recommend this place to anyone going to Sligo
Beautiful location, clean hotel, friendly staff always happy to help. Short drive into Sligo city or the beach at rosses point. Spa was extremely great, really relaxing.
The views are amazing. Less than 10 minute drive to sligo city centre. The apartments themselves were great, a home from home for a week. Would 100% stay again
