The weather wasn't good to us, poured with rain for 4 days, but we did a lot of sightseeing aswell. There was a great place to eat for breakfast which was one block over from the apartment and a 5min walk called Bucks Cafe. The owners were lovely and the food soooo good! The Imperial Hotel in Clifton, we went there for lunch, very impressive. Went down to Kiama, very pretty coastal town and viewed an amazing blow hole . Trains were easy to catch. We hired a car, which was really good, but we caught a train easy enough back to Sydney CBD. It would have been lovely to walk the beaches, but the weather didn't permit it. A few good Op shops in the area if you are into that, aswell.

Area I stayed in was OK.
Area I stayed in was OK. Couldn't find a big restaurant / bar area. Scenic views included a great view of chemical plant and refinery. Look in estate agent windows and could not see why people are paying $4M to be that close to them. Steamers nice, but don't pay their prices for a steak. Marble&grain 300m away-better quality&price.

We were there for a hockey tournament so we didn't get to see much of Wollongong. Also there was an extreme weather event while we were there so we couldn't get down to the waterfront in the time we had available between games.

Yes, I would recommend Wollongong for the experience: the streets are filled with homeless persons at night and roaring with street cars. Nonetheless, I was not subjected to any acts of violence or intimidation. It appears that everyone is minding their own business. Skydiving with a nearby company provided me with an unforgettable experience amidst the beautiful coastline of Wollongong and its beaches. The beaches in Wollongong are immaculate and an excellent location to swim. Although the food is ordinary, it is well worth the time to dine at one of the many waterfront restaurants. For visitors in their 20s, Friday and Saturday night seem to have a pretty good nightlife. If you find yourself near Fever Night Club, chances are that you will have people approach your for drugs or of purchasing of drugs. Just say 'no' and they will leave you alone. They are generally polite about it.

Wollongong has a large range of things to do from skydiving onto North Beach, surfing and swimming at the beach, fishing and everything you want to do at the beach. There is a large shopping plaza in the heart of Wollongong. You can also jump on the freeway south to Kiama, Gerringong, Berry and be there within half an hour. Beautiful spots to visit and great restaurants.
Trendy modern hotel in the CBD or Wollongong - highly recommended as it's close to local shops, restaurants and an amazing shopping centre. Great service and lovely Italian dining area however sadly for us it's closed on Mondays.
Car parking was extra but given location it was well worth it. Really enjoyed our stay here.
Great location. Close to beach. Hotel was clean but overpriced for the room we had. Parking on site was a bonus. Check in was easy. Room key was left in a safety box. Close to Novatel and pub + cafes. Short walk into Wollongong itself - there is a free city bus if you don't like walking.
I book this hotel as its very close to everything, shops, mall, shopping and restaurants also cheapest around the area but still to high for standard. Reception staff always great . great shower pressure . bed was good and much better pillows this time with support.
Room was spacious, recently renovated, bathroom small but well serviced daily. Food available at the hotel was very good, staff friendly and helpful. We will be back soon. Easy parking and central to everywhere in Wollongong.
very good facilities - with access to basketball court and cycling pathways... we were given adjacent cabins enabling quick catching up with group... proximity to Wollongong tourist spots was a bonus...
Belmore apartments is extremely well situated, close to the beach and the city. The apartments were very clean and tidy and very quiet. Ample parking at rear made it easy to load and unload.
I have been staying at these apartments for a number of years now and they never disappoint. Greta location, very comfy and clean rooms. Friendly staff. Thanks for another great stay.
