Spectacular view over the Zambezi river with the mist of the falls in the distance. Within a short, safe walk to the falls. Super helpful and friendly staff who are obviously very well trained. Loved the Zebras, Impalas and Giraffe calmly walking around the property. Bed was super comfortable and the room spotless with a stunning view.

Location is great and restaurants, supermarket and many locations are walkable from the lodge.
Location is safe.
Loadshedding was a nuisance but staff did everything they could to assist and reduce discomfort.
Breakfasts are included and sumptuous full English meals!
Fridge in each room. AC in each room- though I did not use it because it was cool weather in May.

Livingstone town is a bit raw, but not unsafe. The classic components - Victoria Falls (you really do not need a guide just call a local taxi - avoid a guy called Bison! The park with Rhino tour, sunset tour - we used the African Queen/Princess and it was excellent. More than adequate snacks and unlimited drinks. The crew were exceptional. We ate at our hotel - the Victoria Falls Waterfront as it was so good and great value. Didn’t need to consider anywhere else. Amazing pizzas.

Friendly and safe town. Easy to get around.
Friendly and safe town. Easy to get around. Avoid being ripped off by taxi drivers. The falls are a sight to behold, it was majestic. Zambesi cruise is a to do activity, have dinner in one of the restaurants afterwards. Instead of buying at the town market, take a trip to Mukuni village for affordable souvenirs to take home.

Lovely quaint little town, friendly people and clean.
Lovely quaint little town, friendly people and clean. Mosquitoes weren't too much of an issue. We walked the whole length of the town in one day, enjoying the sights and sounds. Very USD focused though, so plan accordingly.

We booked a tour to Livingstone Island and Devil's Pool through LIFE ON THE EDGE. It was an awesome experience. Highlight of our trip. We paid $120 USD per person. Other tours charge more on viator and get your guide, but this is the only company that runs these tours so do not overpay by going through a middle man. Book directly. We felt safe the entire time. Well worth the money!

Getting around Livingstone was convenient as one can walk...
Getting around Livingstone was convenient as one can walk around the town or easily catch a taxi at an affordable price. There are many different cuisine options, be sure to try the local foods which were quite tasty. The Zambezi river cruise was my personal favorite activity.
Protea Hotel maintained high standards of service from rooms to the restaurant services, particularly in this Covid-19 pandemic situation we are in. The meals were great all the time, as was the services at the pool bar. One great development, now that I've been there twice so far this year, was how quick the staff recognized me, addressed me by name each time, and of course I was able to have conversations with most of them. I think that was really reassuring and very welcoming.
A real adventure! The Lodge is situated far away from the city, right at the shore of the Sambesi River. Extremely quiet and peaceful at night with a million stars above. But be careful: The hippos come out of the river at night and you better stay inside of your chalet. We were instructed that this would happen and at night they accompanied us from dinner to our chalets. Super friendly staff organized a tour to the Victoria falls and through the city of Livingstone.
As a solo female traveller, I was at complete ease at the hotel. I felt safe, secure and very relaxed as the staff really gave me 5 star treatment. My return flight was a late afternoon flight and I was not feeling well. The staff insisted on a complimentary late check out until I was ready to go to the airport. Honestly have never received such hospitality and warmth at any other hotel. I got back feeling recharged and a longing to go back to beautiful Livingstone.
This place is amazingly beautiful. I would say its a little but cozy paradise away from home, a must visit for anyone looking to have a good stay in Livingstone. Also this place is conveniently located within good driving distance of things that matter in Livingstone e.g the Victoria Falls, Mosi-o-tunya national park, shopping mall etcetera. Staff is exceptionally welcoming and friendly; rooms are clean and have a brand new feel to them.
Breakfast was organized as buffet type, with cooks ready to serve you according to your wish. One can view from the covered terrace of the restaurant where breakfast was served the magnificent panorama of the Zambezi river. Because, frankly, it is not the funny baboons one can meet everywhere around the hotel, or the quality of the dinner or breakfast that differentiate this hotel from other in Livingstone but location. Unbeatable!
Best Hostel experience in Africa so far. I highly recommend this place to stay in Livingstone. The location couldnt be better. There is a supermarket just on the opposite side of the main road. The staff organize and help you book activities and day trips on the area. There was such a good vibe at the pool too, where everybody hangs out. If I come back one day, I will definitely stay here again.
Ngoma Zanga is a great value with exceptional service. The staff are friendly and attentive and will take care of all of your needs. They are accommodating and well connected with services and activities in and around the Livingstone/Vic Falls area. We felt at home with the staff and well cared for. The food was also quite good and the menu diverse. This is a gem of lodging in Livingstone!
Avani is the most spectacular lodge in Zambia/Victoria Falls ..there are wild zebra and giraffes that roam the property and drink out of the pool ..they have so many activities to offer the guest ..you can book one day safari’s from the hotel and a rhino walk with the anti poaching unit ..incredible friendly staff very helpful ..best breakfast buffet in Zambia
Everything in the lodge from the time of check in to check out was amazing, The resort is an absolute worth to visit within Livingstone and probably one of the best things we did in.
We visited in back to back in 2 weeks, The views of Zambezi river from the rooms, Room being cleaned twice every day and with the little sweet savories,
Outstanding place. We stayed in a Zambian-style hut which had everything we needed inside. It was comfortable, with a very quirky charm.
The location was great, not too far from the city centre as well as the Victoria falls. The staff was outstanding and very helpful, ensuring our stay was as great as it could be.
We enjoyed everything during our stay here. The rooms were extremely clean and staff is very welcoming and the outdoor area(pool, braii stand) was very clean and relaxing as well. Definitely will always choose Butterfly apartments when in Livingstone. Superb accommodation and service! Thank you !
The staff was very friendly and helpful, giving advice during my stay for all my questions and even coordinating tours. Breakfast was great and personally prepared for me. I enjoyed my time at Okavango Lodge and highly recommend it. The location is close to the center of Livingstone.
Everything was good. The rooms are well prepared, the breakfest has a lot of options and the crew members were very kind. It is well located for activities and you have many options of activities leaving directly from the Hotel. Nice view from the restaurant as well. We loved it.
The staff were very nice and helpful, especially Mavis the manager, who was very accommodating and friendly. The location was good, near to the centre of Livingstone but not too near, and the pool was nice. Decent value for money and the bar was very cheap.
Everything. the facility was just amazing. so Serene n beautiful so much attention to detail. Clean warm n welcoming. All services available on site. All external tours have representation at the hotel so all arrangements were seemless n easy.
Very classy hotel in a wonderful location with outdoor dining beside the Zambezi river and a short walk to Victoria Falls. Very helpful staff, and lots of activities that can be booked through the hotel.
