We were in Mestia at the end of the winter season (end of March). If you want to ski relaxed and without queues in the middle of the great scenery of the Caucasus: Tetnuldi (30 to 40 minutes by car from the hotel) is an absolute insider tip!!! A smaller ski area is only 5 minutes away. Modern chairlifts, slopes well prepared......breathtaking views. I was thinking Mestia was just gateway for Usyuguri Village, but the fact is not. It is nice and cozy town but very convenient as I could buy basic stuff at some shops and change money. Mestia is a very beuatiful and special place in Georgia. Here you can find wonderful mountains, interesting traditions and great food. To go here it is better to choose Summer or Winter season. Winter is good for skiing, Summer is good for trekking and hiking. When in Mestia do not miss the chance to go uphill to Ushguli. These villages are UNESCO heritage and it is necessary to see it at least once. However, be informed that the road to Ushguli is really dangerous because of the stone falls and it is better not to go there when there is a bad weather, especially during the rain.

Hospitality and assistance of the staff and the quality of serving food was far the best we experinced within three weeks across whole Georgia. We tasted like 6-7 different dishes and 3x breakfest there and everything was just wow...They have a culinary treasure hidden in that kitchen - definitely must try (especially Shkmeruli). Not forget mentioning great location/view and the building itself (outdoor/indoor). Thank you for making our visit so great.

Exceptionally nice and friendly family. They greeted us with coffee, biscuits and even gave us some apples for the road. It's very close to the Mestia town center, it has several toilets and showers and it's super clean.
