Fantastic sunset view with white egrets coming in to roost and sleep on the trees in front of the swimming pool which is on the 2nd (3rd) floor where there's a small bar. Although there's no access to the beach, there is the quayside row of bars and Italian restaurant just 300 m walk in front of the hotel (crossing a busy main road). Behind the hotel are lots of small shops (not really selling anything attractive to tourists BUT there are 2 kopi tiam (traditional non air-conditioned coffee shops) within 80 m selling 1) pork noodles 2) selling tom yum, curry and prawn noodles and also wah tun hor. They open at 7-4pm only. Further on behind the hotel around 900m is KK garden which has a few seafood restaurants, the one I would recommend is Shiang Tian. Lots of Korean tourists seem to like it there cos there's lobsters, crabs, fish etc

The staffs were friendly and happy people. The breakfast is variety but basic. But still tasty. The room was huge for the amount that we paid. And comfortable too. Didn't know they have bath tub too when I booked.

Kota Kinabalu (KK) is the capital of the East Malaysian state of Sabah on the island of Borneo. It features white-sand beaches, tropical rainforests and the outer lying coral reefs and islands of the Tunku Abdul Rahman (TAR) Marine Park, a haven for scuba divers.
Occupied by the Japanese and heavily bombed during World War II by the British, some remnants of this colonial era remain in the Atkinson Clock Tower and Signal Hill Observatory, with its sweeping view of the coast.
Tanjung Arn is KK’s most popular public beach and secluded northern beaches like Karambunai and Dalit have resorts dotted along the coast.
Kota Kinabalu Harbour hosts international cruise ships and the KK Waterfront is a popular place with many bars. The KK Handicraft Market is your chance to grab a nice souvenir to take home.
Mount Kinabalu is Malaysia’s highest mountain at 4,101 metres. This highly important ecological region contains rare fauna and flora and makes a good day trip from the capital.
A variety of hotels on Booking.com are centred around Kota Kinabalu International Airport, the city centre and islands.

We spent some two days in the city and then transferred out to Tuaran for a five day beach holiday which I thoroughly recommend. The beach was amazing and our hotel opened on to it.
Whilst in the city, we eat at Little Italy and the food was fresh, delicious and very reasonably priced.
‘Grab’ taxis are very cheap and make it easy to move around the city.o

Great place for vacation.
Great place for vacation. The Philippine market was so crowd. the goods are expensive but still can bargain. Be careful with the seller who offer you to pack your things in the box. you have to check before they seal it.

The little city or small town is not special at all, there is no charm to it really and I would not visit it for the town itself. However, it is a town where the airport is so you have to go through it. It is very convenient to access the Jesselton pier to take the boats to the island and to go to the markets, which are not really that special. They are OK. I have seen many great markets throughout Asia.

we stayed in 4 different hotels for 3-4 nights. All good in different ways.
Sea food was super and other meals good,(some too spicy for us but we learnt to ask for "not too spicy")
Taxi transport was cheap and easy. Ferry boat transfers were more difficult, Ask Island Hotels for their ferry times BEFORE you book return flights as free ferries only go at selective times. We had to book a private ferry so we could get to the airport for a 13.00 flight. (cost £48)
Loved the area but we were on the wrong coast for easy access to oranotang monkeys . Flights across were too expensive for us to make the trip!

Kota Kinabalu is a fabulous place to visit for the amazing food, from budget level to fine dining but especially the local and other Asian cuisine. The Filipino Market was exceptional and we left will full cases. Transport around the centre is easy by walking or Grab. The Island trips looked superb but not at our age unfortunately considering the very hot afternoons. Next year we'll go to Mount Kinabalu area but too far on a short visit. The people were invariably charming.
I like the scenery cause when I opened the door window, I could see the port and sea. Love it. Facilities such as air conditioner, fridge, laundry machines are just superb. Definitely will stay here again. But one thing, there is this one guy, the tenant (a foreigner) just didn't seem to be happy that the apartment to be put in the booking.com and swearing in his language about people using booking, airbnb, agoda and etc to stay at the apartment. So be careful.
Don't trust the impression you get from the surrounding. With very budget friendly, you can get like a luxury feel hotel. The socket & switch are high tech. The interior design really satisfying, really clean, love the comfy bed so much. Can't believe I wouldn't want to wake up because of the bed. They provide you with kettle, toiletries, tea, coffee, cup. Very recommended! Hope the host can maintain the service like this.
Decent budget hotel close to the airport and Tanjung Aru beach. Not much to do around the area but I was staying as I had an early flight to catch. People at reception were fantastic and welcoming with the exception of one young man working there who was quite dismissive. Overall, an ok place to stay for the price if you need to be in that area. CBD is only a 5-10 minute Grab away. Views from the pool are great.
Everything was great about my stay at CJ's residence. The staffs are always open and ready to help me asap whenever I experience any problems during my stay. Room was very clean and comfy, they provided a lot of amenities that I feel I'm really staying in a 5 star hotel. So far the best hotel ever that I stayed 👍🏻
I stayed at Shangri la Hotel before Covid pandemic. It wasn’t peak season so it was chill and relaxing. This time, I felt a bit busy and packed with tourists with all the facilities. Swimming pools are nice compared to my last visit. Breakfast are lots of different choices.
At that cheap price, I thought it is a "fake Shangri-La" But i was confirmed, its one of the hotels of the Shangri-La 5 star chain but this one is only 3-star. Well, lobby was presentable and room spacious and cozy. Breakfast buffet had also many choices.
The apartment was huge. Has all the basic kitchen facilities, the room was clean and the hotel just a walkaway from convenient stores and mall as well. Not to forget if you have the room with Jesselton point view, it is totally breathtaking.
The cleaners should get a raise. Been to multiple hotels in KK but the cleanliness of the room here is the best. Parking is free . Location is great for working people on the go as the location is in a mall and close to the airport.
I really satisfied with the service, location, room, facilities. I am satisfied and will come again soon! Hehehehe highly recommended for anyone travel alone and need budget hotel but service 100% tip top.
We needed a place to sleep between flights. The hotel is super near to the airport. Check in and check out all the time possible and easy. There was a 100MYR deposit.
Room was clean and bed comfortable.
The staff is so friendly, the place is near to restaurant, comfy and cozy. For sure the price is cheaper. It's like booking 2 star hotel but got 5 stars room☺️🥰. Recommended hotel to stay
The location near airport. Shop to buy food and thing you needed. Bank opposite of the hotel. They provide airport shuttle. Swimming pool. Other facilities provides by the hotel.
the room big enough.. bathroom spacious
the room and bathroom is clean.. the hotel have lift..
near Jesselton food court, jetty and market, walkable length..
