Exceeded my expectations. The views from the room and the rooftop onsen were gorgeous, the meals were consistently great, the location was a great point from which to explore the town, and the staff were, without exception, friendly and attentive.

The hotel is located in a great spot just at the base of a mountain. The hot spring water is refreshing. The room and meals were wonderful!! The private bath was nice to use but the public bath is great too! The small hot spring town is really nice to walk though. A nice lake is just a short drive up the mountain. Initial D was inspired from this mountain, there are many things related to it near by.
I loved the place. I have never stayed in a hotel that I would have loved more. It was my first experience with hot springs and I enjoyed them a lot. Why not a full smile for bed: my arthritis and futon were not the best friends, haha! But that was not hotel's fault. But I managed well enough. And I have never had a more beautiful view from a hotel window.
The staff were so beautiful and kind! The private onsen at sunset was a perfect way to end a day exploring Ikaho. The hotel is in a perfect location to explore everything there is to see in Ikaho and just around the corner from a bus stop to explore surrounding areas. We will be back to stay at Mimatsukan. Thank you for having us!
lovely hotel run by a lovely couple. they couldnt do enough for you. onsen was large and clean. yakatas to wear each day. it must be very difficult for business people to make a living. more tourists need to visit ikaho onsen. the town is suffering badly. all credit to the lovely ryokan that I stayed in. i wish you every success.
Onsen is very good, the area is quite remote, but the hotel is close to various points of interest with short driving distance and it’s within walking distance to the main onsen street.
It’s a very professional and traditional Japanese hospitality. All Staffs are nice with outstanding services.
It appears we have booked a smoking room which I found out when I checked-in. The management kindly offered to change room and we were upgraded for free to a much larger room. A big thank to the hotel and shame on Booking.com for not advertising the smoking / non-smoking option more clearly.
The hotel is beautiful and our room was clean and spacious! Hotel staff was very accommodating, especially since a person in our group was injuries on a hike. Best food I've had at a ryokan! Highly recommend this ryokan!
Located just next to Ikanho steps.
Owner was helpful to drive our car from the open car park down the hill into the hotel’s sheltered car park making it easy and convenient on check out day.
Big and comfortable hotel, pleasant outdoor onsen for free in the next building and nice indoor onsen in the hotel. Great buffet with various food. Just near the bus stop.
Excellent n beautiful hotel with tip top service, good food n nice garden. Love the onsen and decor of the entire hotel with direct access to stone steps.
