Dakota Glasgow, hotel in Glasgow

Dakota Glasgow features 83 luxuriously appointed bedrooms including 11 suites.

the room was good - spacious and clean and the bathroom shower was the best ever. Breakfast was "hearty" The second day we ordered one breakfast for two and we didn't go hungry! As far as public transport was concerned it was well connected in all directions.. We didn't need to take a taxi at all. The reception staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Perhpas I should have given an overall mark of excellent. It was certainly very good.

FAQs about hotels in Glasgow

Fun-Loving and Forward Thinking

Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow combines Victorian architecture and a vibrant arts scene. A former European City of Culture, it is home to many national organisations including the Scottish Ballet and the National Theatre of Scotland. The museums are also world class. Not to be missed are the futuristic-looking Glasgow Science Centre and the eclectic exhibits at the Kelvingrove.

Lined with Georgian buildings, George Square is the city’s focal point and the spot for Glasgow Hogmanay celebrations. Fanning out from here are streets housing venues for the city’s main love: music. From classical concerts to up-and-coming bands, every taste is catered for.

As host of the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Glasgow is also a city of sport. Scotland’s 2 most iconic football clubs - Celtic and Rangers - are based here, as is the national football stadium Hampden Park. The Scottish Football Museum is also an excellent walk through the beautiful game.

Last but not least is the shopping in Glasgow. Shopping centres cover everything from high street brands to international designers. So when you fly into Glasgow Airport, make sure you’ve left enough space in your bags!

    It's a city!

It's a city! We were coming from the highlands and headed to the Lake District, so it did not do much for us, but if you love architecture and history, you'll like Glasgow. We took a walk by the riverfront and did not feel very safe. We enjoyed seeing Glasgow Green, the People's Castle, and the McLennan Arch.

Glasgow is a beautiful city with a fascinating nature , weather, and various free to visit museums. There different transportation means available. However, I enjoyed the bus transportation during my trip. Glasgow people are friendly and helpful. Those who like shopping will find it easy to get whatever they want in the several shopping centers there. I liked mostly all types of female cosmetic's that were also with reasonable prices. I loved visiting George Square area especially as of the great weather at this time of the year, April. You can also plan your meetings with you family members or friends there and enjoy your time.

The area around the hotel in particular is very enjoyable and interesting, with Kelvingrove Park, The Kelvingrove Museum, and the Botanical Gardens all being close. The Kelvingrove / Finnieston area is a bit more relaxed and laid-back than the city centre but it has a lot of really nice pubs, bars, cafes, and restaurants too. Public transport to the centre and to other parts of Glasgow is good.

Lovely, booked couple of nights stay over as holiday was in north Scotland, didn't expect the standard we got. Friendly, helpful staff to the clean room ensuite, great facilities in and out of the hotel, well impressed and the breakfast, wonderful, no rushing lot's of fresh alternatives. We opted for a quiet room, best nights sleep and the price was a bit more than average but worth it, the swimming pool sauna and wet room finished off our short stay over Definitely coming again

The location is great for both events in the Ovo or SECC, for walking into the west end, and for train links to the city centre. Car parking with a great discount at the SECC car park next door - was only £8 for 24 hours which is excellent for Glasgow. Good selection of food and drink at the bar, quality breakfast, and fantastic lounge/bar area to hang out in. Room was spotless and comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful.
