Location was spectacular on Las Ballenas although road noise and loud music surround the location (not bad in the unit but the surrounding area). Cleanliness was good, shower small but lots of hot water, large space and great view. Close to a couple of good restaurants in particular Playa 18. Sesame chicken at the next door restaurant Eden was spectacular.

Very lovely area and safe. We got there by bus from Santo Domingo in 2 hours and the price was like $10. There are a lots of amazing restaurants by the beach with different type of food: pizza, ceviche, salads, pasta, etc. Lots of places to dance and have a drink.

Great for families, couples, solo working adults, older travelers, and pet owners as well. Friendly staff, cool vibe, very complete breakfast included and excellent food on the restaurant menu.

The Saone Peninsula is the most pleasant part of DR.
The Saone Peninsula is the most pleasant part of DR. A large number of different beaches, so that everyone can find something suitable for themselves. Traffic in the city is chaotic, but perfectly manageable once you get used to it, both by car and motorbike. Pleasant sitting and sipping cocktails at the Colibri beach bar. You have a lot possibilities to eat, different restaurants, bars, or you grab smth on the street.

Ballenas beach was amazing for swimming, and great restaurants nearby . We stayed at a smaller condo/hotel close to the beach and were very happy. Feed the poor homeless dogs. The town itself is chaotic and noisy but Ballenas beach area was wonderful

My family and I often go to Las Terrenas where we enjoy the clean water and beach, the lush vegetation and the overall low key ambiance. We do long walks on the beach, surfing and we enjoy the excellent restaurants - Italian and French - in town. Terrenas is for the indépendant traveler who wants to discover other culture. There are also beautiful excursions avsilable: Los Haitises with their unique eco system, the hike to El limon waterfall and catamaran rides to other beaches! Waiting to go back!

Las Terrenas is a busy, small town filled with motorcycles,...
Las Terrenas is a busy, small town filled with motorcycles, ATV's and cars crowding the streets. Once you learn the direction (one way streets) quite manageable. Parking can be a problem in some places but the better restaurants have attendants to help you find a spot. The two large grocery stores have ample parking. A very good choice of nice, highly rated beachside restaurants. More casual dining experiences along the main downtown streets. Lots of French and especially Italian influence. KiiKii beach bar/restaurant sells POUTINE, as good as any in Quebec! Cheese locally made. Even found an outlet selling Beavertails!
Beaches are beautiful and you can park on most of them. Loud "Boom Box" music coming out of the cruising or parked cars and ATV's will make you smile! La joie de vivre is everywhere! Il Lemon waterfall is beautiful and worth the trip if you are able. Clave Verde Eco lodge up the mountain for a change of scenery and wonderful lunch.
Support the locals and buy something!!
pros: the pool was naturally warm and big, the terrasse looked over the pool area and was nicely setup and big, location was great, near shops and other areas in las Terrenas by car or taxi, the security staff was very nice and helpful, parking was useful if you rent a car/motorcycle/ATV, and the neighborhood is very calm and chill (nice if you go as a couple, with friends, or with family).
This was the best hotel we stayed in during our trip throughout the Dominican Republic! From the location super close to the beach, the super attentive staff at reception with free coffee there every morning, the beautifully decorated little houses in the midst of a lush garden, this place fully deserves a 10/10 rating. We would stay here again :-)
Nice basic and clean room with a big double bed and an extra bed in very small mezzanine. A relaxing atmosphere in the garden and pool area.
Breakfast was delicious. Owners are lovely.
A plus point for me was that I could pay by credit card without paying an extravagant fee as in most Dominican hotels...if you can pay by card at all!
the pool area and especially the beach front was pure paradise
good amount of activities - not too much not too view and guests are never forced to participate
very delicous and fresh pizza
for actvities and transportation around Samana go to the activity office (travel agency) in the hotel - she was very competent
Great place for cheap travel. Its not far from beach locations. Stuff is nice, friendly, english speaking. The dogs bell in the night, but its Las Terrenas you know.
Kitchen small but cozy, it was ok for me to cook even. I didn't get from the first time how to use dominican dishes soap I'm sorry 😉
The place is very accesible, located in a spot pretty close to the center of the Pueblo and also close to the beach. The hosts are great people who helped us whenever we needed. The breakfast was also very tasty and diversified. We liked our stay and would go back if ever returning to Las Terrenas.
Samana peninsula is absolutely beautiful and this hotel is on a magnificent beach. The atmosphere is tranquil, and sea swimming is beautiful.
The pools are wonderful too.
Nice staff, especially Nikolas at reception who was very helpful
Recommend going to El Limon to hike to the waterfall.
REally nice quiet hotel. Owner is a really nice canadian couple whot take good care of the hotel. Super clean, Bali style is not an exaggeration. Very good breakfeast, freindly and capable stuff. Located about 250 m walk from beach. Close to restaurants. I recommend the Takuma highly.
This hotel was great. The reception did everything to make you feel great. Wonderful place. The pools were good.
SPA - very good service.
I would definitely recommend the hotel. Clean and tidy.
Without this hotel, there would be nothing to do in Las Terrenas.
Really nice hotel in a quiet neighbourhood with beach next door. Wonderful restaurant (both breakfast with fresh juices, pancakes and eggs to order and other lovely things and the a la carte menu), nice pool, huge apartments with good beds and A/C.
Everything was amazing, starting with the welcome cocktail. It’s a sustainable property which gave us peace of mind in the garbage ridden Dominican Republic. Good breakfast made to order with options you can add. Covid precautions are observed.
Beautiful apartment, everything worked, spotlessly clean, perfect location just a few steps from the beach. Alex is lovely. Really enjoyed our stay, one of the best places we have stayed in Las Terrenas.
Great location to enjoy with a group. Nice pool and outside area. In a few minutes you drive to the center of las Terrenas. Communication with the host was really good.
We would definitely recommend it!
the beach was amazing and very clean, perfect to relax around. close to las terrenas and freat location to explore around (but you need a car or bike to get to town)
best place to stay en Las Terrenas with your family, full equipped with all the utility, if I have to visit again I surely choose La Cortesana. 💯 recommended
