My recent stay at the Red Lion Hotel exceeded all expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the staff, who were incredibly attentive throughout my entire stay. The room was spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated, providing a comfortable retreat after a long day of travel.
One of the highlights of my stay was the impeccable service. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate any request I had, whether it was arranging transportation or recommending local attractions. Their genuine hospitality truly made me feel valued as a guest.
The location of the hotel was also ideal, with easy access to nearby attractions and transportation options.
Overall, I highly recommend the Red Lion Hotel to anyone looking for a memorable and enjoyable stay. I can't wait to return!

The Oswego is a very good hotel in an ideal location. We have stayed at least a dozen times over the years and will continue to do so. My stay was perfect! Clean, comfortable and quiet room. The kitchenette was very helpful for us, and when we didn’t want to prepare food we popped down to the Dennys, which was delicious and incredibly convenient. Because we com from so far, we always check-in so late at night, but the staff are always so nice and really help check-in go smoothly. The shower has good pressure for rinsing conditioner out of long hair, and the bed! I love the soft sheets and lots of pillows at the end of a long drive. I usually park outside with all the flower bushes/trees because of the size of my truck, and have never had troubles finding a good spot.

The Fisherman's Wharf was interesting with the nicely decorated houses people live in and the lovely hot donuts we ate there. We enjoyed walking around the downtown, having lunch at the Irish Times, walking through the Empress Hotel, and taking a water taxi to Milestones for our dinner. I wish that I could have visited longer and see Emily Carr's house but it was closed at the time. Victoria is a lovely city and James Bay Village is quaint and my favourite place to walk.

Beautiful city with many places within walking distance.
Beautiful city with many places within walking distance. Don't miss Butchart Gardesn, Fisherman's warf and the parliament building at night. we had two dogs so meals at fishermans warf were the best and most accomodating. Our stay was too short but it gave us enough ideas for a longer return trip.
totally worth it!

Would be helpful if there was a bus on Bellville st.
Would be helpful if there was a bus on Bellville st. As it’s a long walk for a handicap person to walk up to Douglas st.
Over all felling Victoria needs to do more to make the city more handicap accessible. Many businesses have stairs that are very restricted.

Victoria is a great city to visit for a walking visit.
Victoria is a great city to visit for a walking visit. Don't bother with a car - parking is expensive or non-existent. Skip the tourist shops on Government Street (except Murchies Teas). Beacon Hill Park is nice especially in spring or summer. The walk around the waterfront presents some interesting views. The Royal British Columbia Museum is a great place to learn about the history of western Canada. Overall, a nice, comfortable place to visit with slight British flavor.

I lived in Victoria for 20 years and have stayed at the Emptess numerous times before and since. I find your attitude and facilities impersonal and commonplace. No individuality or character.
Run of the mill. Even the Union Club is more comfortable.
The Empress had a certain atmosphere you have lost it. No different than any other American hotel. I would stay at the Magnolia for convenience or Dashwood Inn. The only difference between the the Emptess and Sandmans is price.
You do have excellent staff. All your recent “ improvements seem to be money oriented and an effort to be “ politically correct “

Victoria is a beautiful city.
Victoria is a beautiful city. We were able to experience most of it on foot and bicycle. People were so kind and we felt safe the whole time. We also used city transit which is very clean and safe. Very impressed with our overall visit and I hope I can get back to see more. On a side note, we were there in April and many things were closed on Mondays. And a lot of the city doesn't open until 10 am even on regular work days. One of our favorite things was Fishermans Wharf. The food and atmosphere were fantastic!
This hostel was the cheapest option which I found for our last minute trip to Victoria. For such a price I didnt expect much, but have to say that for 1night it was ideal. Very close to downtown, walkable to beach and Beacon park. It is maybe 1-2min from the bus station from a ferry terminal. I didnt expect much from breakfast and the dinner but the pasta dinner was pretty cool and breakfast was nice too. The only negative thing was the hair on a bedlinen, other than that the room was clean and also the shared washroom.
The best thing about this hotel is its location - right at the edge of downtown and close to the ferry terminal.
The room was pretty good - comfortable bed, large TV, couch, nice city view, lots of power outlets, and a large bathroom with plenty of surface area. It was a bit tight - when one person sits by the desk/working area, the other has to jump over the bed to get from one side of the room to the other. A second chair for another person with a laptop is not really an option.
The staff allowed us to store our luggage before check in on Saturday and after check out on Sunday. The hotel is across the street from the Black Ball Ferry terminal, where we entered Victoria. Our room was clean and comfortable. I appreciated toiletries being provided in large containers installed in the bathtub instead of individual portions, which cause plastic waste. The included breakfast allowed multiple choices and was hot and ample.
I loved my room. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and quiet. The proximity of the hotel to all amenities of downtown Victoria is excellent. The front desk staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive. I enjoyed the complimentary coffee in the morning while reading my book on the deck near my room. The whole experience at the hotel was relaxing and enjoyable, and I will most definitely be back!
i have lived in victoria for 20 years and know this property well ,if you want to go downtown its 15 mins in a car or taxi, the hosts are great the bedrooms more than adequate ,better than staying in a downtown hotels,i will now forget the downtown hotels with cramped rooms and little views ,this is the best way to see all of downtown out of your bedroom window .
Your staff are the best thing in a city where everyone is working so hard to provide the best service.
The location is great as I presume that this hotel is largely responsible for the development and growth of Victoria
You set a very high standard and the whole town has your hotel to thank and responsible for how this town has become the best of Canada
The Oswego Hotel is quiet, elegant, eco-friendly, has EV chargers and gated parking. We had a room with a kitchenette, shower, deep bathtub, and lovely view of Victoria. The location was perfect for us because we could easily walk to the harbor, restaurants, and the Natural History Museum. The people at the front desk were helpful and gracious.
The location was perfect for wandering around downtown Victoria. The hotel is very clean and the staff very helpful. We were able to check in early so that we could go walking. There was coffee available in the lobby early in the morning and during the day. Good parking available. We had to book last minute and it worked out beautifully.
It’s a great location within walking distance of the Blackball Ferry to Pt. Angeles, Parliament, the Museum, the Empress Hotel, the inner harbour, and the downtown tourist area. It is only one block from the network of bike lanes. It is quiet at night, allowing for a good sleep. There is a convenient secure bike room.
This is a standard boutique hotel. We loved the location, Victoria is a very walkable city so it certainly pays to be central. The rooms were smaller but that's to be expected with DT boutique hotels. Parking was offsite but very close and was not an inconvenience at all. The staff were super friendly.
Check-in was a breeze, the staff are so helpful and friendly. I love the location. Easily accessible by bus to and fro Downtown Victoria. My 5yr old daughter enjoyed her swim in the pool. The room is clean. Chinese Restaurant is beside the hotel so there was no problem getting some food.
The Embassy Inn is a well-managed property, everything is organized, clean and working. The free breakfast is a good way to start the day, and the property is within a short walking distance of all the main attractions in downtown Victoria.
The location is perfect for access to friends, downtown, Beacon Hill Park and Dallas Rd. We've stayed at RP a number of times and dollar value is perfect and we hope this boutique hotel continues to cater to middle class. Thank you
We choose to stay at this hotel every time we go to Victoria. We love the location, being walking distance to all the downtown amenities is a big plus. Staff is friendly and the rooms are spacious and clean.
Amazing hotel by the ocean! Just 10 minutes from downtown Victoria. Ocean view is spectacular and the beach front heated pool and spa are so comforting, especially on a mid November day at 6 degree celsius.
