Just a small town with folk-like atmosphere. The best beaches are far and you go by car or boat. It’s expensive if you have a big family. We enjoyed the beach of itamambuca and curral which are clean and beautiful and have access by car… I decided to pay for parking close… not very cheap but ok. Restaurants Alecrin and Raizes were excellent options for dinner. We saw big traffic going downtown, for us walk was a good option from the hotel to the aquarium and downtown (didn’t go to the aquarium because was full and long line, also not cheap). Very popular beach town, lots of tourist facilities. You can hit brutal, traffic entering or leaving at the wrong times of the weekend. We came in on Route SP-125 on a Sunday afternoon in January and the opposite direction had miles of cars exiting town, crawling slowly up the winding mountain road.
