Breakfast was a hot breakfast, which was unexpected. A pleasant surprise! It was standard however each morning and didn't include coffee. Reception resolved my wifi access, which I appreciated, especially given my office in Oz could not!

Suva is very busy but a vibrant city. I heard lot of stories about robberies so be careful when travelling or shopping. Phone and bag snatching is common! But it can be fun if you are alert and careful.

The capital of Fiji has old colonial buildings which remain in use. The city is safe although the locals warn about pick pockets. The police made regular patrols. The harbour is beautiful while Thurston Park is full of tropical plants.Fijian cusine is not exciting. although there are plenty of curries of interest. Taxis are pleantiful and cheap. B uses require a stored value card.

The people of Suva are lovely, warm and welcoming.
The people of Suva are lovely, warm and welcoming. However there are not a lot of things to do in Suva and the harbour is not clean enough to swim in. The traffic congestion is surprisingly bad. We walked a lot, footpaths are in bad condition or not available.
Places worth visiting are the museum, local market, handicraft market, Thurston Gardens (I was left wondering was that it!), watching locals play sport outside Parliament. For those interested in numismatics a visit to the Reserve Bank of Fiji is worthwhile.
Best meal out was at Paradiso.
Best outing from Suva was to Colo-i-Suva Forest Park

The last stay at the Eco Lodge and the Rainforest Park...
The last stay at the Eco Lodge and the Rainforest Park adjacent we visited changed my view of Suva - It's not just a city/capital. I wished the govenment would upgrade the roads inside the park, and make it a safer place for visitors especially at night.

I always stay at the Suve Holiday Inn when i'm visiting family....my favourite hotel. It was so central to every places that we visit. It was like home away from home. I tried to eat at different restaurants in the surrounding area. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a great start to the day with so many different selection of food. Its a friendly place and seems quite safe.
Its a friendly place and seems quite safe. Lots of shops etc. Wide range of restaurants, and food courts if you need a lunch in town.
Lots of souvenir shops and a souvenir center behind the post office. Remember to bargain.
Taxis are everywhere and cheap
Personally I would steer clear of the large "international" hotels, and find a clean 2nd level one. The large international hotels are just that. You could be anywhere.
The rooms at Quest Suva are great, they provide all you need - they are spacious, have a little kitchenette with essential amenities, nice bathroom, very comfortable bed. Our room was in a corner and had windows facing two different sides, which was a great plus. The staff was great and very helpful, we had additional requirements and they managed to meet them very quickly and painlessly. The location is very central and convenient to reach all you need.
This place exceeded my expectations, and the photos here do not do it justice. We arrived to a very clean, well maintained apartment. Suer easy access with the lockbox just outside the door. 2 story apartment with all the amenities and a balcony on the second floor bedroom. Definitely better than staying at a hotel where you pay 10x the price and a room that can barely fit the queen size bed you get here. 100% would recommend to anyone.
Very professional and friendly staff, the facilities are as you would expect from a 5 Star hotel. Security is excellent, located in the centre of Suva (the complex is called Suva Central) just one draw back, if your room is facing Suva Harbour you will hear be hearing loud local music from the pub across the road, stops early in the evening and Sundays. Highly recommend this place.
The hotel location was close to workshop area. The hotel is clean and have good customer service and nice staffs. All services in the hotel room was exceptional. It is always feel better when I see the hotel staffs smiling and have good greetings to all hotel guests.
It had large rooms, two balcony decks. Very basic, not really tourist accommodation, but cheaper than a good hotel, which is fair. A bit of a stroll to get anywhere, but taxis are readily available and cheap. More like a room in a hostel. Staff were friendly.
Set on a hill with a lovely view over Suva, 5 Princes is a lovely old building and the hotel has a lovely colonial type feel about it. Rooms are comfy and we really enjoyed our stay here. Breakfast is out on the front verandah and all staff were fantastic!
We had three nights in Suva at Sunseekers. We liked the spacious room and small provision of kitchenware, as well as the very charming and helpful reception staff. The location was good in Suva, and easy/quick to get into town by rental car.
The staff was friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable, and responsive to our needs. I thought the service of the hotel and the restaurant was outstanding. The food was good. The facilities were a bit tired but staff were working on upgrades.
Stayed for a night with family. Had such a wonderful time. Everything was spotless and so spacious. Very comfortable. Best place to stay in Suva. Monita was very helpful and we loved the house help. Recommend this place for everyone.
Unbelievably Spacious room with cooking facilities. A bed that’s Super comfy I just melted into it and a breathtaking harbour view. Really enjoyed my stay. Thanks Capricorn Hotel Suva.
The hotel is nicely positioned on the outskirts of Suva central, so a 5 min walk into town. Recently completely renovated so very clean and fresh. Staff were helpful and friendly.

I was allowed to use their Wifi to search for another accommodation in Suva, and their restroom for a quick pitstop. We did not stay here. Read below!
