More than just gondolas there are also plenty of history...
More than just gondolas there are also plenty of history that if you are not familiar with you should start doing your homework. Wear comfortables clothes and shoes - all walking. Make sure you have enough local currency and tip for services - even though it is already included in most cases.
For food every blogger has their favorite (that doesn't mean they are right) Look at menu and surrounding (close to square the food more expensive the value was not the best) Try to eat at places are you can just grab and go - sit down places have cover charge so don't be surprised

Venice is beautiful city.
Venice is beautiful city. It s very historic and characteristic. There are of course no cars or even motorcycles, but there are watertaxis and water buses, which is unique and something you have to experience.
There are narrow streets and it is very easy to get lost there. There are shops everywhere and historic buildings.

Venice is truly one of a kind.
Venice is truly one of a kind. Crowded with tourists and overprices? Yes, but that's because it is truly a beautiful and unique location with tons of fascinating history, incredible architecture and gorgeous views.
You will walk a lot. Make sure you have a good data plan or downloaded maps. Do a walking tour that includes a gondola ride. The Doge's Palace is magnificent. Buy a water taxi pass and visit the neighboring islands. Murano is world-famous for its glass. Eat on the Grand Canal once, then eat in the back alleys or the smaller canals. Most restaurants offer the same fare with little variation. Get gelato from Suso! Visit the oldest Jewish ghetto in the world--it's history is incredible!
Invest in bug spray as our room was thick with mosquitos (it was right on the canal with no screens on the windows).

We loved walking around and getting lost!
We loved walking around and getting lost!
Google maps was a great tool to have but sometimes because of the alleyways, it took a few seconds to catchup to us, as we walked.
We visited all the touristy places.. basilica, Palace, burano and murano, rialto, florian cafe in san marco sq, went to an opera, etc etc
Florin cafe coffee is a bit expensive but they don't rush you off the seats and you can stay there for as long as you like, listening to their live-music.
Cheaper options to eat are off the main hotspots. There are loads of snack bars and many many restaurants. You won't go hungry!
Our guide to the islands of Burano and Murano, Elly, told us that only tourists drink Aperol spritz in venice... all the locals drink Select Spritz! So we tried it and it tastes very like aperol spritz and has a little more %alcohol!!
We got tickets to a small opera and loved it... the hall was small and the price was around €35, I think. In Scuola Grande di San Teodoro. It was for 90mins but well worth the price... they had fantastic costumes and sang a range of songs from different operas.!!

I can't think of a more unique place than Venice.
I can't think of a more unique place than Venice. In todays world, not having even bicycles is just amazing. To have a place just made of waterways and walking lanes is just fantastic.
Loved everything about it.
This apartment was amazing! Spacious, clean, comfortable beds, and lots of natural light. Cristina, the owner, is very friendly and resourceful in providing recommendations while in Venice. Our family really enjoyed staying here.
Huge plus - dryer with the washer. Finding a dryer in Italy is almost impossible, so this was huge for me traveling with children, especially when it rained.
Location - the best! Short walk to the Rialto vaporetto stop, short walk to Doges Palace area. Best location! Could get anywhere in Venice in 20mins or less.
The place is very clean and accessible to all shops and cafeterias. And Tiziano is the best host he helped us where to go, is very helpful and hospitable, and helped us carry 2 heavy luggages to get to our bus. Fantastic area, complete facilities, and Tiziano went above and beyond to make our stay hassle free. Thank you so much Tiziano for all the help and for being the most hospitable host. I will definitely come back again and again to this hotel. Fantastic service. The best hotel in italy in my experience. Grazie Grazie! :)
Where do I begin. This was our best stay in Italy. The apartment was spacious for the 4 of us. The staff Elisabetta was so friendly and responded to us immediately when we had questions. It was very convenient to walk from the hotel to San Marco Square and other areas. There were a few restaurants and bar nearby too. Breakfast was prepared one day ahead and topped up for the next day (cereal, milk, biscuits, yogurt etc.). They also had a small game room filled with board games and some books we could borrow during our stay.
Front Desk staff were very helpful in recommending restaurants.
The breakfast buffet in the morning and the service in the breakfast room were the best of the eight hotels we stayed at in Italy. The outside garden was lovely but it was too cold to use in late April. There were gondolas right outside the front door. The bathroom and room were very comfortable. The location is fabulous. Convenient St Mark's Square as well as the waterfront with all the vaporettos but tucked away from the crowds.
Out stay at Angel’s loft was exceptional. Michele is a great host, he told us which ferry to take and met us by the station, helped us with our luggage and explained all the details for our stay. The place is just the most beautiful, clean, comfortable, safe and the location is the best, close to everything and in a great neighborhood, by the Rialto bridge, thank you so much Michele for one of our best stays in Italy, we will be back to Venice and we will stay here again and again!!! Five stars!!!
Best place we stayed during our holidays in Northern Italy. The place is located 3 minutes away from the vaporetto without the need to cross any bridges (very comfortable if you have small kids in a stroller). Very spacious, bright rooms, two bathrooms. The host are connected to whatsapp and are very helpful providing your with tips how to eat well in Venice (anybody who has been there knows how extremely hard that is) and what to do not to get ripped off by tourist traps. Definitely recommend it.
The location is excellent. Even though you can find accommodation in Venice for cheaper costs, one should remember that the city is quite busy and walking around can get pretty tiring. We were incredibly happy that we could go back to our place in the center whenever we felt like getting some rest or just dropping packages from shops. Also, the breakfast is probably the best one could expect in Italy cause you get not only cold but also hot options.
The property is excellent! The view is so amazing that it was hard to leave the apartment to sight see. It is centrally located. It is also a historic location and very cool to stay is the same place Marco Polo grew up in.
The host Claudia made the stay extra special. When planning for this trip to Italy, I was not interested in visiting Venice. Now I am planning my next trip to Venice to stay at this property thanks to Claudia and her family.
I cannot even express how amazing this place is. Staff always greets with a big smile. They all know English very well. Always welcoming to answer any question. I love the room. Love the view uven on the back side. Beautiful place. The breakfast was the best out of the 5 places we stayed in Italy. The boat stop is 1 min walk from hotel. The rialto bridge 1 min walk. This is super central to everything. Best place in Venice
Location is everything in Venice. It is right on a canal for water taxi access, within easy walking distance to all the sites, beautiful views, and great restaurants. We loved it 10 years ago and it’s even better now, having been completely renovated. Very good breakfast. Best staff. Take a water taxi to/from the airport or train station; it might be the most wonderful thing you do in Italy — besides eating 😉.
Casa Pusterla was the best choice of our visit in Venice. the apartment is spacious and fully equipped with everything one may need. it is located a few steps from the Bianalle in the loveliest quiet neighbourhood. The hosts Flavia and Marco waited for us at the vaporeto station and provided all the necessary information. better than any 5 stars hotel (as far as we are concerned)
Accomodation is located in the Jewish Ghetto of Venice. Easy 10 minute walk from main train terminal to apartment or 1 stop on the ferry. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Rooms were clean and had a nice view of the canal from both bedrooms. Water pressure in the shower was the best we found whilst in Italy.
Location is excellent, just a few minutes from Rialto. Communication with a host was very efficient, he gave good tips on Venice. The apartment is clean, has wonderful rooftop view, lots of daylight in the rooms, good beds. We travelled around Italy and this was the best apartment we had.
Beautiful stay in Venice! We had a room overlooking the canal and it was breathtakingly beautiful. The hotel is located in a good spot, close to everything. The breakfast is delicious and has a lot of variety. Room is small but that’s to be expected in Italy.
Fantastic breakfast in spite of Covid19 - actually the best selection we ever had in Italy, including large grand hotels. Extremely helpful and friendly people, even gave us a bottle of Procecco and large piece of Panettone for new year.
We loved the ease of getting into the room, the breakfast was great. It was in a mellow neighborhood for Venice with plenty of great restaurants in the hood. Gianluca was THE BEST host we have had on our 5-week tour of Italy.
Out of all the hotels I’ve stayed in Italy (All of them have higher stars than this one) - this one is the best as they provide kettle, biscuits and tea bags. The bathroom is clean and new. The staff was very friendly too.
The property is in the heart of Venice!
The host is super sweet and helpful.
One of the best hosts we met on your trip to Italy.
The rooms are very clean and have a vintage feel to them which makes it very romantic.
The directions to the hotel were detailed enough that I actually got to the hotel...a definite achievement in Venice1 The breakfast was the best I've encountered in my two months of travel through Italy.
the suite was beautiful, the staff was so friendly, they had their own cafe, everything was perfect. Better than any other hotel we stayed at in Italy.
