Really varied community with modern and historical sections, lovely tree-lined streets, surprisingly high-end shopping district and street side cafes great for people watching. A super base for exploring the region. We stayed in a quiet villa a short drive from town and enjoyed the sounds of birds in the morning, frogs at night, big starry skies, and a private pool, for a fabulous price.

Aix en Provence is a stunning lace to visit.
Aix en Provence is a stunning lace to visit. The design of the city centre lends itself to events such as wonderful markets - daily in different city squares - and huge events over several days, such as the arrival of the Olympic torch, an Iron Man festival - huge - and a display of cars (my French is limited, but I had the impression that the cars were new types of energy-efficient models). I was so impressed that I thought of suggesting that my hometown councilors come over and see how Aix en Provence is organized. There was so much that they could earn about creating a vibrant city.

For me, Aix-en-Provence is a little bit overrated.
For me, Aix-en-Provence is a little bit overrated. It's nice, but I would not say is really charming. Students are everywhere - and that's nice, they are enjoying bars and adding a good vibe. Other than this, some areas looks dead - maybe is just because the vacation season did not started yet?
Anyway, overall, for me Avignon is better than Aix

Nice city if you can access it.
Nice city if you can access it. We took the local train from Marseille and no taxi showed up for over 45 minutes. We finally walked to the hotel, which wasn't easy after a 3+ hour train ride. Just be prepared ahead with taxi co. phone number...Great town for foodies and drinkers..Three days are plenty. Plan excursions out of town to make the best of the area.

Aix-en-Provence is lovely.
Aix-en-Provence is lovely. Excellent restaurants, shops, marchés, sites and museums. The core of the old town has medieval charm. There a beautiful squares and the Cours Mirabeau Is lined with plane trees, shops and resturants/bars/cafes.
There are a lot of sites to see related to Paul Cézanne. His atelier is worth a visit. Where he painted his beloved Montagne Sainte-Victoire from the Terrain des Peintres.
Aix is an excellent location to visit Provence from. Within two hours drive one has all of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur to visit.

The city was busy and some streets were to narrow for the car we rented. Some signals were confusing about narrow streets endings!
The hotel was very enjoyable. It was a great opportunity to relax and enjoy nature. We could stay longer.
We had great conversations with Christopher. He went out of his way to make us feel at home. We were able to wash and dried our clothes at no extra cost. He even packed for us some goodies for our trip.

A beautiful and grand hotel, with very beautiful gardens but still very close to the centre of Aix - a real oasis of calm and tranquility. All of the staff are incredibly warm, efficient and thoughtful. Wonderful restaurant for dinners, and breakfast outstanding (especially the fruit salad and cappuccinos!) We were travelling with our labrador, and she was given as warm a welcome as we were, and provided with a cushion and bowls in our room. An absolutely lovely visit to Aix, thanks to Le Pigonnet.
The property is beautiful and in a great location. The rooms have all the amenities and details of a 5 star resort. The bed was comfortable and provided some of the best sleep we had on trip. Damien and his family were wonderful host and prepared meals for each day that would rival any gourmet restaurant. He also accompanied us on a tour of Aix which was one of the highlights of our trip. We rode bicycles through the area and just had an unforgettable experience.
We went to this charming little hotel in our favorite part of Aix with high expectations and they were certainly met! From our warm welcome to the final Au Revoir the staff was amazing. The room itself was lovely, well appointed, comfortable, and with a beautiful garden view. Breakfast offers many excellent choices and we were more than pleased with ours. We highly recommend La Maison du Collectionneur and are currently planning a return visit. Don't miss out!
ideal location in Aix en Provence. we arrived by train and the hotel is located well within walking walking distance even with our suitcases. once settled location is in the heart of Aix to explore the entire old town area.
reception 24 hours and the staff were all friendly and helpful , even helped in recommending places in Aix to dine or shop. Despite my very limited French they were great and communicated in English well also.
The location was fantastic. 5 minute walk to the Main Street. Our room was huge by French standards. The king bed was extremely comfortable. The room had a walk in shower with plenty of hot water. The morning breakfast offering, not included, was excellent as well. But most of all Clarisse and the staff were so friendly, they couldn’t do enough for us. I would highly recommend this hotel if you’re ever in Aix en Provence!
The hotel was different than I expected, but everything was perfect and the girl at the reception was so so friendly and welcoming.
The Concordia is really just across the road from the old centre of Aix en Provence. There are plenty of restaurants, bistros and takeaways within a very short distance. We stayed here for 3 days and loved every minute.
Also, Aix is full of very pretty shops and boutiques :o)
the property is in a good location, easy walk into the historic centre of Aix en Provence. The front staff were very attentive at check in and directed us to a safe lock up location for our bikes as we were on a biking holiday.
Good breakfast room with good breakfast offerings although the lay out of the buffet could have better flow to eliminate a lot of going back and forth.
We had such a good stay in this apartment. the location in Aix was amazing. Everything was as described on the website. It was very clean and comfortable. A/c worked well. We couldn’t have been happier staying here and if we come back to Aix will definitely try to stay here again. It makes it so easy to visit the old town, shop, eat and be back at the apartment quickly.
Wonderful period building beautifully decorated. The property is conveniently located in the center of Aix en Provence. It feels more like an upscale Bed & Breakfast than a boutique hotel. Anthony and Margherita are wonderful and helpful hosts. I was given what I believe to be the best room in the building. Very spacious with Nespresso machine. Lovely spacious bathroom
This old hotel is in the center of AIX, so it is at the center of the action. The room was small and very basic but it was in town. Parking was difficult, a place nearby that was hard to get to, and hard to find. But you could get a flavor of the town by looking out the window and the huge beautiful town fountain square was a minute walk away.
We loved our stay in this cosy B&B, most of all because of extremely friendly and caring hostesses ❤️ As other visitors early described, this is not a (soulless) luxury hotel, but a home-like experience. Wonderful french breakfast, great advices for restaurants, sights and activities. It all made it easy to enjoy the stay in Aix and around!
The Concorde hotel at Aix-en-Provence has a very convenient location near the bus and train station and near the center of the city.
There is supermarket a few meters away.
The building is kind of old but very well kept. We got a room with balcony which was a plus on our stay. All the staff we met was very nice and helpful.
The hotel is ideally located in Aix-en-Provence city centre, walking distance from all attractions. It has a private parking which is really convenient. It also has a spa, which unfortunately I did not have the time to enjoy. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. Good price for such a quality.
Great little hotel just outside the city center of Aix. From the outside you cannot tel much, but inside has a beautiful garden, perfect for breakfast or a drink before going into town.
Lovely staff, clean small room.
Comfortable
Took a bit of walking from centre but I guess best affordable hotel option in Provence (B&B are more expensive although close to town, tax is kind of crazy with this option)
