What a stunning place to stay. Modern, clean and spacious room with all the amenities you need for a night or two away. Comfortable bed and bedding. Magnificent views, it felt private without the isolation. The cafe is a lovely addition and all the staff we came across were a joy. Easy location, many wineries and restaurants within a short drive. Can’t wait to come back in summer and use the pool!

we were disappointed and probably won't go again. We had been many times before years ago and it was much better then. It was very expensive for what it was. The breakfast was ordinary for a fancy hhotel. Dinner was good

Spoilt with the number and quality of exceptional Hunter Valley wineries.
Wines were brilliant. Cellar doors very knowledgeable and willing to share their wine knowledge as needed.
The compact nature of the Valley means travel is easy and without hassles.
Restaurants and concert venues are 1st class.
Being so close to Sydney... it's a must to visit and enjoy the world class wines!

Beautiful area with gorgeous scenery and incredibly welcoming people at every place we went. So many little wineries to visit, chocolate and cheese. A great place to relax and wind down.
We weren’t that overwhelmed by the brunches we had at Liesure Inn and Eden at the Garden Centre, but the surroundings and lovely people helped overcome that. I think some places rely on the tourist one time visit rather than getting everything right.

It turned out to be an AirBNB. Promised breakfast and had to cook myself. Not a good choice. Told by owner I could go out somewhere else to have breakfast!!!! Why when I have paid for it?
Shower over spa tub in bathroom so not easy getting in and out. Tear in one of pillow slips. Furniture not very nice.

It's great for couples, not alot to do for children but we found a few options. Perfect for a weekend getaway and of course a wedding which is why we were there. Super impressed with Brokenwood and the changes they have made.

Pokolbin has quite a few things to do and a number of accommodation options at your disposal. It's just a matter of how much you can afford to spend and how much time you have to see everything. We drove around as this was easiest for a family, although you had the expensive horse and carriage or cheap electric bike hire as other options. The wineries are always a winner, but the Chocolate & Fudge Factory and Cheese Factory are good to visit as well. Take a look at Pepper Tree Vineyard. They offer free use of their gardens/vines for a picnic opportunity, but you do need to book this.

Hunter Valley Gardens was the best.
Hunter Valley Gardens was the best. Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort was horrific. Only those visitors who booked with Oaks could use facilities others could not even though we paid the same amount. We were deprived of the use of major facilities at the resort as we booked through booking .com. It was a humiliating experience, awful for my daughter. Heartbreaking. The woman at Oaks reception was vile when explaining the disaster to me.
The room was nice, had a nice view. The hotel overall is quite stunning and the foyer is so pretty. The room is a bit dated in places and a revamp would be great as the tiling is cracking and grate drains are dangerous and just overall a bit tired looking and a revamp of the tiles and overall theme of the room would help with modernising the place. Foyer, building and overall out buildings are all ok, but the room is a bit tired and let the hotel down a it, in our opinion.
The location was great as we travelled there for the Hunter Valley Christmas Lights Spectacular and we could walk to the gardens from hotel. The little shopping village next door to the Mecure was also very convenient as we needed to get some supplies from the chemist that we had let at home and also it had some great little coffee places/cafes to grab a snack before we left. Buffet breakfast at Mecure was good also.
Breakfast was generous for our group of 7.
Location was great; peaceful, close to vineyards and Hunter Valley Gardens.
Nicely appointed living area and communal spaces.
Beautiful surrounds which we unfortunately didn't have time to explore during our one night stay.
Great set up for 4 couples, with 2 younger children.
Access to activities on site (eBike, escape room).
Would love to stay longer next time.
Located close to the center of Pokolbin and perched on the side of a hill, the view from the balcony was beautiful. If I had visited in Spring/Summer, I would have spent all my time on the balcony. Complimentary transfer from the bistro to the villa was a lifesaver. The villa was beautifully furnished and well equipped. Added touches of fresh milk and complimentary wine were just a bonus.
Exceeded our expectations. Great pub food and atmosphere. Rooms are behind the pub and surprisingly quiet. We were not disturbed by any pub noise. Room was large and spacious. We stayed overnight to visit the Hunter Valley Gardens Christmas Lights, only a 15 minute walk along gravel path. Used torches on the return walk, all easy enough, level walk the whole way. Would stay again.
Claudia at Reception was fantastic - a very helpful and pleasant young lady (Set the tone for the whole venue. Perfectly located and close to so many of the things to do in Pokolbin. The room was excellent and spotlessly clean. The food at the Bistro was good quality and the drinks were surprisingly a very good price considering the quality of the wines available.
I loved our stay at Pokolbin Estate Village, we stayed for 2 nights in the country villa house and it was absolutely perfect for our girly getaway. The cabin suited us perfectly, a nice little kitchen and sitting room, double shower head bathroom and a little balcony where you can sit and ponder and watch kangaroos! Beds were so comfy and clean.
Staff were helpful too
Room was large and the complex was very quiet considering its main road location. Kids loved the pool. Great location - convenient to the Hunter Valley gardens. Water pressure in the shower was amazing. Outside of the building looks to have been recently redecorated. Gardens are lovely and the staff we dealt with were polite.
We were close to hunter valley gardens lights show wich is why we were in Pokolbin but it's also right near the Roche estate and lots of wineries we stopped at the chocolate factory on the way home it was really conveniently located we would definitely stay again also be excellent for a golf trip 🙂🙂🙂
5 star resort without the 5 star price tag. Location in the Valley is great and the property picturesque.
Pool was perfect and staff so friendly.
The villa was beautiful with everything you need so a beautiful getaway. Beds comfy and shower water pressure great.
Location was very central to all Pokolbin and Hunter Valley has to offer so that is super.
The rooms were simple but beautifully designed and decorated, and beds very comfortable - really nice.
And the garden absolutely stunning.
Absolutely wonderful hotel with amazing property & lovely views! The atmosphere is super chilled and relaxed - perfect escape from city life. Super friendly and supportive staff. Very good breakfast with great variety of options!
Aircon was awesome (36 Degrees outside). great little park for the kids and a small kiddies pool as well, which is separate to the main pool. Walking distance to anything a family would want or need to do in the Hunter Valley.
The hotel has been beautifully renovated. Very comfortable and beautiful rooms. Housekeeping was good but beds weren’t made very professionally- not hotel quality basic bed making ! But otherwise a stunning hotel
Great self contained little units with lovely views. The bathroom was amazing (double rain shower head, good pressure and hot water). Breakfast provisions were also very generous. Loved our stay.
Breakfast was excellent but staff were a highlight. Beautiful outlook and loved the geese!
Great central Hunter Valley location. Enjoyed the open fire in the guest lounge.
