A cut above the other Ibis I have stayed in. Room was larger and Bathroom was a great size and was tiled throughout. Some Ibis hotels I've stayed at only had the capsule style bathrooms which are functional but a little small. Ibis the Entrance has direct access to the Diggers Club and the Bistro so that's a bonus.
The Lakes Hotel is located in the heart of The Entrance, just 550 metres from Picnic Point Reserve. It offers an on-site restaurant, a bar, and free parking.

Very clean room - new bathroom fit out. Very good food in the bar (great pie and mash / steak sandwich).
Important to get a quiet room (near back of hotel) as front bar is a disco until around mid-night

This area is relaxing and a good base for a holiday on the coast north of Sydney which is less than 2 hours drive south of The Entrance. The railway line is 20 km away so a car is required.Eating was a little disappointing. Most restaurants were quiet. The area has a bit of a retro feel with the entertainment area on the Lakeside with ferris wheel , dodgem cars and rides and an abundance of Lolly shops.

The Entrance is a beautiful place with lovely views and local people. There are great shops to walk along and browse and plenty of options for something to eat and drink. There's a great children's playground and a water park feature also. There is also timed sessions for Pelican feedings. Definitely recommend The Entrance, it is a great family friendly place to stay.

This beachside town has suffered similarly to many others in the off tourist season with many premises being closed down, dirty streets and hoodlum car operators driving around. Whilst we were able to enjoy some good service from eateries attended the general feel of the town is not overly pleasant, possibly added to by not so great weather during our visit.

The Entrance looks tired.
The Entrance looks tired. It has so much potential but many of the motels are old or unloved. There was no opportunity to paddle board and all the boats for hire looked like they needed some upgrades. There seems to be very little development happening.
We loved eating in all the local restaurants and I’m glad that the permanent shade shelters have been installed outside most restaurants.

The Entrance is a like finding gold in a gold mine.
The Entrance is a like finding gold in a gold mine. Its such a beautiful place, whether you are caravanning, camping or holidaying in a resort or apartment it suits everyone's needs. offers so much and often above your expectations. Its a place you find and want to come back every year to build memories. GREAT PLACE TO HOLIDAY AT, AND POSSIBLY A GREAT PLAVE TO EVEN LIVE IN, IF HAD THE OPPORTUNITY.

The Entrance waterfront and restaurants are great but...
The Entrance waterfront and restaurants are great but further afield, things aren't the way they used to be. Many shops have closed and those that hadn't, open late. There is not one good bakery for example.
The staff were very accommodating and helpful. The view from the ocean view room was excellent with a nice sunny balcony in the mornings to enjoy. Being winter it was very quiet, I suspect that it may be noisy in the summer when lots of people are using the playground below. Having a dryer was great to dry your towels after a shower. The place is a little dated and if you want absolute four-star this may not be the accommodation to you. However if you want good accommodation at a reasonable price then this may be the place for you.
Our room was on the ground floor with a small lawned area overlooking the ocean. Very nicely refurbished. Room was large and had everything needed.
Map shows a road between the property and the ocean. This is more of a laneway and carries little if any road traffic.
Hotel has a very nice restaurant within the property - very handy.
Property is a little way out of The Entrance but that is probably a good thing. Nice and quiet with the sound of the ocean prominent.
The hotel was located very closer to the main attraction of The Entrance. Has easy access to all the main shops including Coles, Dominos, Bottlemarty, and eateries. No need to take any vehicle you could just walk to all the places.
The lady who cleans the room does a one man army job. She was very good and friendly which was the only positive thing about this location.
location great, if they did the required PPM maintenance and cleaning to the rooms would also be great.
indoor pool is good but poor lighting doesnt meet min legal lighting safety requirments.
room service food if you can manage to order it was good, but limited menu get better food, quicker and cheaper at the entrance resturants.
Great clean hotel. Nice check in experience. The lady working was so fun and easy to get along with. The bridge to the club was great allowing the kids to go play while adults enjoy a drink and some dinner.
Most comfortable bed in all hotels I stayed in this little getaway.
Will be back highly recommended.
My stay here was comfortable and great value for money. Having easy access to the Diggers Club for meals was extremely convenient and the club itself provided great value for money meals. The location is an easy walk to Long Jetty with expansive views over the lake down to The Entrance.
The rooms are spacious. The bed was so comfy, we slept wonderfully. The little kitchen was fab and the shower - the pressure and massage ability was excellent. The location was great - only a 2 - 3 min drive to The Entrance and The Diggers Club is a minutes walk.
this hotel is the best one I had experience in THE Entrance. The manager update my book to the two bedroom with water view. hotel close to the city centre and everything.
This hotel is the most value deal in this area from my opinion.
I was quite surprised when I walked into the room, it looked awesome, it felt very homely and was very comfortable and the staff are very welcoming.
Next time I'm at the entrance I will definitely be looking to stay here again.
Cabins were nice and spacious, close to the pool, with a nice bbq area. Pancake truck in the mornings on site .Great location, right on the beach and conveniently located close to Long Jetty and The Entrance and Bateau Bay.
The rooms we were allocated were overwhelming with cigarette smoke to the point I was wheezing. The Aircon and ladies amenities were out of order. This accommodation is not suitable for adults, let alone children.
Location suitable for conference but isolated from shopping for example shopping and choice of restaurants at The Entrance. Choice of accommodation was too limited for our needs.
Loved the cleanliness of the room. And so accommodating for our dog!! Very friendly staff who went out of the way to check us in after hours and make us so welcome
