Carpets in our room very tired with many stains, we were unlucky as two noisy wedding parties one after another. Woken 3 nights around 1.30-2.00 am not the hotels fault but still part of our stay ! Breakfast was fairly poor as couldn’t get a poached egg right or keep up with hot food required! think due to wedding guests all eating at same time resulting in leaving nothing! for the rest other fruit which was good . Definitely would not stay again and we have gone to Cascais for last 4 years!

Cascais is a small city located on the outskirts of Lisbon. Once a fishing village and defence outpost, the royalty transformed it into a stylish summer resort. Mixing beautiful beaches, elegant mansions, imposing fortifications, and a wide variety of hotels, Cascais is a great option for every season.
King Luís II used the city as his summer residence from 1870 to 1908, attracting other celebrities, and changing the destiny of the tranquil village forever. Modern roads and railway lines linking to Lisbon and Sintra were built, as well as a casino and other facilities. Some of the best hotels and 5-star resorts in Cascais date back to these times.
Nowadays, the town is a cosmopolitan beach retreat along the Estoril Coast, where people from Lisbon and other Portugal cities come for a day or weekend escapade. Many foreign tourists prefer its more relaxed hotels over the sometimes hectic Lisbon atmosphere.
Don’t miss the Citadel, rebuilt during the 16th century in a typical star-shaped Renaissance style. Other attractions include the Museum of the Sea and the ‘Paula Rego House of Stories’.
Beach hotels are the gem of Cascais and you can find a wide range on Booking.com. Check your availability with enough time in advance, as the city remains a popular summer destination.
The city itself is well run and maintained. The historic buildings, waterfront, and numerous restaurants with nice shopping opportunities make it a good destination. The beach is lovely! And we did a day trip to Sintra.

The hotel Vila Gale is approximately a 10 minute walk from Cascais centre where the restaurants and bars are. It was a great hotel for the pool as not many in Cascais have a large pool like this hotel does. It was great having use of the electric scooters to get to and from the hotel. Bring cash as a lot of the shops are cash only!

It's an amazing, vibrant city close to Lisbon. It has it's charm, felt very cozy, with nice people, beaches, coastal walks and other cities, such as Sintra nearby. We've also went to Cabo da Roca, the most western part of continental Europe and the views are spectacular!

Our initial plan was to stay 2n and move to the next town, but we stayed for extra 3n in Cascais. It's a lovely, very vibrant city full of various attractions, restaurants and nice people. We visited beaches, rented a bicycle. The city has very easy connection with Lisbon, about 45min train ride. You can feel there's a lot of wealth in the city, and the quality of stay here is very high. Highly recommended.

I am very disappointed.
I am very disappointed. The apartment is nothing like the photos...old and smelly. Very low maintenance to the property. There was a mole at the bathroom and a lot of Flys at the bath and washroom. The smell was awful of some very harsh cleaning liquid mixed with mole smell. They just took a very poor condition apartment and painted everything in white but it is still old and smelly ...painted the mole as well but you could still see and smell it

Cascais is: charming, full of interesting things to see and places to go to, such as great restaurants and beautiful streets to visit, beaches, museums, old estate homes, parks and quality shops to visit. The Cascais train station will also
speedily get you to Lisbon. Dont miss this beautiful town and all it has to offer.
We travelled out from lisbon to Cascais just to get away from the city for a night as staying a week there. Fabulous hotel, beautiful big room. Massive bed. Free coffee & water and a water point to top up from. Spotless in all areas. Beautiful open & airy reception. Friendly staff. We checked out and headed for the beach and they kindly held our bags in storage until we returned later that evening. Would definately stay again. Great location....about 2 mins walk from train station. We were sorry we didnt stay a 2nd night.
Breakfast was absolutely great, fabulous choice of hot and cold food in a beautiful setting. Only criticism is the coffee it isn’t good.
Location of the hotel was perfect, best beach & close to some great restaurants and the town.
Room was also very good. Family room, could have done with a proper 2nd bed for 2nd child, otherwise lovely. Gorgeous balcony if a bit small.
Rooftop bar/pool and terrace is an absolute gem, used it daily. Good shaded areas, dip in plunge size pool to cool off, lots of tables and sun beds.
We absolutely fell in love with the Pergola Boutique Hotel from the minute we walked in. The staff are just delightful, friendly and helpful and the building beautiful. We had a room with a balcony which was fabulously spacious and had a stunning bathroom with the best shower ever. Breakfasts were truly delicious - so healthy and fresh and lovely choices. The hotel is a 2 minute walk from the train station yet the street was very quiet. We'd definitely come back.
Fizu is one of the friendliest guys you will ever meet. He was kind, warm, welcoming and had lots of tips and ideas. He tries to turn his hotel/hostel into a family house, and we think he completely succeeded. The rooms are nice. Breakfast buffet is excellent. There's even a small pool and several lounge areas. The location is great both for enjoying Cascais and exploring Lisbon, as the city center and the train station are within 10 minutes.
The whole experience exceeded our expectations. The staff were welcoming and attentive, breakfast could not be faulted and the hotel was spotless. I booked 3 rooms- all individually and thoughtfully decorated, the lounge area was comfortable and relaxing to be in. My son said it was the best hotel he has ever stayed in! Everyone had lots of space and the gardens, which were lush had many private areas. A beautiful hotel.
Breakfast and location was great. However, the staff is THE BEST part of the stay. They are all friendly and helpful...they go above and beyond to answer questions and and make sure that you have a great experience at the Hotel and Cascais. It was our second stay at the hotel, and upon arrival we felt welcome and at home as the staff all recognized that we had patronized the property on a previous visit.
The Pestana Cascais was an ideal location for us to explore this corner of Portugal. The hotel is on a quiet street, the breakfest buffet offered an expansive selection, the room was always clean and tidy and (most important) the staff (from the front desk, to the restaurant to the cleaning staff) were exceptionally polite and helpful. Bravo to the entire hotel team.
Quiet, nicely decorated, clean, with welcoming staff. Great location. Truly "boutique" parking :) - behind the hotel, accessed through a labyrinth of narrow streets. Nice restaurant and breakfast area, but breakfast itself is unremarkable. Overall, we are very pleased with our stay; if we ever visit Cascais again, we'll try to stay here again.
Family owned property. It was owned by the great-grandmother of the owner. They recently reformed it and became a hotel to pay for the reform. It is a great experience, much better than a hotel. You can chat with the owners, experience a local house and be very close to the city center. The highlight was the amazing breakfast.
Amazing building with a gorgeous backyard and pool - one of the prettiest gardens I’ve seen at a hotel. The breakfast exceeded our expectations as well as the 24 hour free coffee machines! We also loved the location. It’s away from touristy bits and the city is so small it takes only ten minutes to walk to the beach anyway.
The Pestana Cidadela Cascais is in a stellar location. The hotel itself is set among beautiful historic buildings, and our room had a great view of the marina & surrounding 16th century citadel walls. Lots of art work and interesting architectural features - top marks for how they have incorporated old & new.
This hotel has a good location in very nice and luxury green area close to the golf fields. The staff was professional and very polite. The breakfast was very nice. Very big complement for the Kids Club and their team. Our kids were very happy and it's a place where you want to come back again.
We only stayed for one night, but i would pick it again if i ever came back to Cascais. The breakfast was superb, one of the best we’ve had. Hotel is located in a quiet area. They have plenty of parking spaces, which was great.
Great staff! Mara, David and Margarita were super helpful!! The BCascais teams knows how to take care of their visitors!!!
