Loved how easy the city was to navigate on foot and find...
Loved how easy the city was to navigate on foot and find your way from site to site. Handy signposts were great. I ate on the go - Subway & tried Sibylla for first time. Started off full of energy thanks to the solid breakfast provided all-inclusive at my hostel. Managed to squeeze in Umedalen Sculpture Park, Women's History Museum, Bildmuseet plus nearby giant clothespeg sculpture, Västerbotten Museum, Umeå City Church and the local cinema in my 2 day stay. Not bad! Riverside walkway also made for a charming saunter beside the frozen river. Sadly no SSL/Allsvenskan innebandy matches played for me to attend while there and the Guitar Museum was closed but makes for great reasons to return :)

Umeå is nice city with beautiful river side city center. Everything is at walking distance and there are many interesting shops and cafes at pedestrian zone. Umea is a wonderful nordic city with a small population.
Umea is a wonderful nordic city with a small population. The city is generally safe and the people are generally welcoming and willing to assist especially when visitors seem lost. The cost of living seems to be high compared to other places but this is understandable given the high incomes and standard of living in Sweden. Other than this, the lobby area was very spacious and there is a space to work as well. Also, there is a coffee machine and hot water (with various tea options and small cookies) all the time in the lobby area which I highly appreciate. The hotel is super clean, the staff extremely kind and helpful, the price is very honest for the offered service. I travelled with my three children and I was worried of the shared bathroom, but in the end it turned out to be an advantage since we could have a shower in parallel, saving a lot time!

It’s family run, and all the staff are really friendly, kind and helpful. Buffet breakfast with a lot of different choices. Tasty and good value dinner options too. 10 minutes from central Umea. Free parking. Good WiFi. Comfy and well equipped rooms. Despite being right next to a busy road, it was super quiet in the room.

There is a good choice at the breakfast buffet. Dinner is also a buffet, the choice is limited but I found what was on offer to be always tasty and for approx €18.80 for two very good value. In Sweden you need to have a parking application to pay for the parking space. Pity if you do not own android phone. We had two rooms, one was smaller, and very hot in it. Second room was way better.
