From the friendly staff on arrival to the outstanding food, everything from this stay exceeded my expectations.
The building is incredibly charming and then when you go into the rear garden you’re welcomed by a flock of feathered friends.
The restaurant served me one of the nicest meals I have had in a long time, partnered with a local beer too.

Well not so much ilminster itself as a head to place but the area in General has much to offer and not just Meusems or Churches
We visited Cheddar Gorge and other nearbye Towns and seaside Villages, visiting some Great Brocant's where it's hard to say no to that additional piece of clutter.

We chose Ilminster as it was fairly close to the M5 but not too far from Lyme Regis, where we were visiting the following day. We didn't spend time in Ilminster, just used the hotel as a overnight stop, but it looked characterful and was a great location to other attractions, including Lyme Regis.

Lovely central location so you can go to Weymouth, Lyme Regis, Sidmouth, Taunton and Wells in approximately an hour or under. Ilminster is a small town, with a large Tesco and other small shops for all you needs. Friendly locals and plenty of places to visit for all the family. Highly recommended for a perfect getaway.

Huge rooms and in particular the bed... Spotless and very comfortable. The location is quiet and tranquil... I will come back in the summer and make use of the beautiful beer garden.
Staff are really welcoming and bring a lovely Caribbean flavour to this corner of Somerset. There's something unique about starting your day to a full English breakfast accompanied by a bit of Bob Marley!
I didn't sample the main evening menu this stay but have in the past and the food is amazing.
We enjoyed every minute in this well appointed B&B. The gardens are lovely, and our room on the ground floor was unique and very comfortable. It included a king size bed and a free standing bath tub and separate shower. There is a hot tub on the property and outdoor areas to relax. The owner prepares an amazing breakfast to order. This is one of the nicest places we have stayed during our travels.
Contrasting with "upmarket" chain hotels I've stayed in recently it was great - the TV was an ACTUAL smart TV which was NOT the case in a Voco or a holiday Inn express. The breakfast was excellent and the restaurant belonging to the property serves first class cuisine and reasonably priced
Really nice stay at this lovely hotel.
Lots of free parking and good links to the motorway.
My room was large clean and very comfortable and the walk in shower was a great addition.
Evening meal was excellent so was the breakfast.
A very nice stay indeed.
Great location in a quiet little town, ideal central point for Somerset, we had a wedding nearby, much better than staying in a hotel room, book the whole house instead ah.. Comfortable beds, great quality towels, very spacious.. Would hire again.
Great hotel/pub. Staff were very welcoming as soon as we arrived. Food was exceptional. Service was faultless. Bedroom and shower were superb.
Great location in a lovey village which is conveniently located close to road network.
Lovely converted country cider barn. Nicely kitted out in all of the living areas with lots of kitchen stuff and plush cushions. Host is nice and friendly. Cute baby chicks in outbuilding!!
Lots of space with all the facilities, very comfortable bed and plenty food in the fridge. Good location for travelling around Somerset and close to Ilminster.
