It was perfect for where I was working and for getting to Sherwood Forest in the evenings. There are takeaways and convenience stores within a 5 minute walk, plus a park which is excellent for short dog walks.

I loved Ravenscroft, we parked there and walked into town, only found one pub which would allow my little dog in, but the toilets were rather grotty, so we left. We also walked to the Black Bull at Mansfield Wood House, which welcomed our dogs, the toilets were fantastic, the disabled toilet had a seat raiser, 1st time in decades I could get off the toilet with out struggling. The food was worth the money, I'd happily come back for the gammon and pineapple. The bar staff was lovely.

The town centre is very run down with empty and dilapidated shops, mainly nail bars, hair salons, vaping, used phones and cafes. The eating ioptions that are both wheelchair and dog friendly are very limited. There are some charity shops. I can't vouch for the four seasons shopping centre as I had to mind the dog outside. There is a nice pet shop which welcomed him and provided some reasonably priced toys and treats.

We were made to feel very welcome by our friendly hosts. The whole place was beautifully furnished very quirky with an abundance of antique furnishings bone china lovely biscuits/ tea and coffee selection in the room. The attention to detail in our room and en-suite was fantastic from the lighting to the furnishings and we had a super breakfast before leaving. It was also fantastic value for money and highly recommendable 😀

Great location for the theatre, Old victorian Hotel with character but rooms a little tired with old fashioned bedding but bed very comfortable and everything in your room you need for a short stay. Unfortunately the breakfast although beautifully presented wasn't good mainly due to poor quality sausages, one bite and it put me off the rest of my full English. My suggestion would be to spend more on food quality than little plastic bottles of environmentally unfriendly toiletries . The guest welcome could also have been better. Also no bar or restaurant open for dinner on Friday evening., website says no bar or restaurant at the weekend and when my husband and I asked about dinner fir Friday evening ( the night of our stay) we were told that they classed Friday as the weekend, in my opinion this is a working week day .

I originate from Mansfield so it is always a pleasure to return. The town like most others I visit is not as vibrant as it once was but I believe measures are in place for big improvements. The Rushley Inn a few hundred yards away from 281 Rooms is very handy as is the mini Tesco store opposite the Inn. Frequent buses to Mansfield and Nottingham. 281 Rooms is situated in a lovely residential area

My route app let me down so I asked locals for directions and they were really helpful and gave me the correct information. As a somewhat cynical old geezer I was really pleasantly surprised, it was really great.Thank You Mansfield citizens. You are lovely people and have lifted my jaded opinion of my fellow humans big style. Thank You all especially the taxi drivers.
The breakfast was excellent, both the free "continental" breakfast (which I had one day) and the English cooked breakfast (which I had on leaving). The place is owned and run by a lovely family. Had I stayed longer, they would probably have happily let me use my laptop in the breakfast room. I slept well. The shower was an excellent manipulable one, not one of those awful thing stuck to the wall that you can't move around.
Nicer than the hotel chains. The on-street parking was entirely without problems.
Excellent room/house to stay. Recommend to everyone, will use them again in the future.
Room was fully prepared for short/long stay. Bedding, towel, equipped kitchen, bathroom, washing mashine. Like I would stay in my own property, there was everything, all what I need and more, for cooking, washing, bathing you name it, they have it. I didn't expect that it is going to be so comfortable, much better option then local hotels. I enjoyed this place, yeah, 5 stars stay
An exceptional B&B. The hosts are wonderful. We had a very warm welcome and were well looked after throughout our stay. The breakfast was excellent and there were plenty of treats in the room (real coffee, tea, biscuits and cakes and bottled water in the fridge).
The house itself is full of charm and character and in a very peaceful setting yet within easy reach of the town centre and train station.
We would definitely like to stay again!
A lovely cottage in a quiet location. The cottage was very well supplied with all things necessary for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was easy to use and I found everything I needed. We especially enjoyed the fire and the view from the windows over the fields and the horses. Proximity to Sherwood Forest and some excellent pubs was an important part of our stay and the bus service into Nottingham was very handy.
The property is stunning and Phillip was so welcoming - we have 2 sausage dogs who with with us and have never stated in such a clean and beautifully presented dog-friendly hotel. We were allocated the ground floor garden room which was beautiful and extremely helpful with being right by the garden, the grounds of the property are also stunning- would absolutely recommend and will be booking again
Our stay at Bridleways guesthouse was exceptional. Emyr and the team couldn't have been more welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our rooms were generously sized, spotless and there were lots of touches that really went above and beyond other places we've stayed. Breakfast was delicious and had a really personal service. Cannot fault and cannot recommend enough!
the staff were very friendly. t he hotel could do with a good clean. it’s a good location too just was a bit hard to find on the sat nav but we got there eventually. it’s very old school. the pub what’s there is good if you like punk rock and the staff are very welcoming .
The apartment had everything you could ever dream of needing. The location was excellent for an evening in Mansfield. The communication with the host was excellent and pictures to help with the location and lock boxes were reassuring.
The flat was nice though didn’t match the photos on here (no corner sofa) which are probably for a different flat in the same building. All was clean. Good location for visiting relatives in Mansfield. Good secure allocated parking.
All the comforts and privacy of your own compact home away from home. The beds were comfortable, the location was very peaceful, quiet and had secure parking. All a very short distance from Mansfield town centre.
I Like the place very much because I found it is so close to the Train Station and the hotel is simple, unique, and all facilities is good and comfortable, the stuff there is polite, calm, and helpful.
Beautiful building.. even though my wife and I only stayed one night. Can't fault it or the people running it. Very nice hotel and very nice breakfast room and breakfast
Staff lovely. Very clean. Food good. A lift would have been helpful however, it is an old Victorian property so allowances have to be made. I would definitely go back.
