The Woolpack Hotel, hotel in Tenterden

Situated in Tenterden, 28 km from Leeds Castle, The Woolpack Hotel features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. This 4-star inn offers free WiFi.

I was really surprised by the decor and general facilities in my room, especially in view of the pub being 600 years old. I have stayed in similar listed buildings and the attention to detail in the decoration especially a really deep pile carpet was brilliant. The food was certainly up to four star hotel quality and things like having hot chocolate in the selection of drinks in the rooms was exceptional. What I also apreciated was the friendliness of all the staff. The Sussex Best recommended by the Landlord was truely special and I can't wait for another oppotunity to return.

Lovely little town with bustling high street, with lots of restaurants, bars/pubs and shops to keep your entertained. Had a lovely curry at Banjara, just a short walk from our hotel. For steam train enthusiasts, there's the kent & East Sussex railway starting from the town centre, plus Chapel Down winery just down the road, which gives superb tours / tastings & delicious food at the Swan.

Tenterden has a very attractive tree-lined High Street with many independent shops and cafes. It is a busy, thriving market town in a beautiful part of the country, known as the Garden of England. Visitor attractions include the Chapel Down vineyards and Tenterden Steam Railway.

We enjoyed Tenterden as it was our first visit to Kent and we were pleasantly surprised how nice the area was. We visited Chaple Down Vinyard, We visited the The Crown Inn in Tenterden for a drink the locals and bar staff were very friendly and helpful , they didn't service food but we recommend the pub for a drink as they made us feel so very welcome. We ate at the London Beach Country Hotel. Recommend a visit to Sissinghurst Castle garden. Wouldn't visit Hastings again , the old part is nice but new part is not to our taste.

We found Tenterden central for our break as we visited National Trust houses/castles which is why we choose this location We ate in the evening in the Prezzo which was only 100yards from the hotel they had a restaurant in the hotel but we ate out Tenterden is a lovely place to visit in the day its buzzing plenty of places to eat but come 6pm it's very quite and all the little coffee shops are shut

Tenterden is a very pretty market town surrounded by beautiful countryside. It has lots of small independent shops and plenty places to eat. The small museum is excellent and the steam trains are interesting even if you don't go on them. Just down the road is Chapel Down winery and the Ellen Terry museum , both worth a visit. If the weather is unkind and you have children, the leisure pool is very good. To get the most out of the area you do need a car. Tenterden is served by lots of buses but not necessary very frequently.

Very comfortable hotel on Tenterden High Street. Our room was large, charming and well-furnished. It was a very hot day and we were provided with a high- quality fan to keep the room cool, which was most welcome! . The room had good tea and coffee facilities, including a Nespresso coffee machine, The owner was charming and helpful, as were all her staff. There is a large private car park behind the hotel and a nice terrace at the front.

Staff were really friendly, the shower door was hanging off when we arrived, I told the receptionist and it was fixed immediately by a very nice man who asked if there was anything else needed doing. We ate, that evening, in the Raja restaurant which is attached to the hotel. Food was excellent and service was good.

Although technically the spa isn’t owned by the hotel it is all in the same building and it’s jointly managed by the Spa and the hotel. The spa definitely made it such an enjoyable stay. The grounds are in such a beautiful landscape. The receptionist was extremely helpful and very pleasant and approachable.

Great location in the center of Tenterden. Easy access to many restaurants and bars, great for exploring Kent. The building is from the 14th century so there are physical limitations which they accommodate well.
