We stayed in Nafplio for 2 days but we could have stayed much longer because it is beautiful town with many places to visit. From here we went to Epidaurus, Tyrins and Mycenae, all these are extraordinary archeological sites. The Palamidi fortress is a huge medieval citadel that sits on a hill overlooking the city, very impressive and well conserved, a masterpiece on itself. The problem there is the parking lot which is really very very small for the huge amount of visitors. It is very crowded at most times. The city center is very picturesque, narrow streets with beautiful houses and flowers everywhere, lots of small shops and boutiques.

Nafplio is a lovely and picturesque town, with lots of good restaurants and shops. It's in a lovely setting, and there are a fair few things to see and visit in the town itself, while it also makes a great base for exploring the rest of the Peloponnese. The only thing it lacks is a top quality beach, which is perhaps just as well or it would be overflowing with tourists!

Party town! Plenty of choice for eating out. Cafes and wine bars. From the cheap to the expensive up market restaurants. Quality of food excellent and cheap. Great community market every Wednesday and Saturday. If you have a kitchen this is the place to shop. An abundance of various shops, souvenirs, clothing, jewellery and the like. Good nearby beach and sightseeing of ruins.

although nafplio itself is not large, especially if you stick to the old town which is the most interesting part it is a good base for local tours either with a bus/ktel, affordable taxi or a car. We would have liked to at least check out Epidavros as well and a near by monastery. if you plan to visit nearby sites without basing your self in nafplio 2 days is plenty other wise 4 days to fit Mycenae and Epidavrus

3 nights max is perfect for Nafplio during the winter season. The city is beautiful, the Venesian forst was fabulous and the food is good. The only issue I have with the city is the terrible smell, air quality that seems to start around 5pm and continues until about 8 pm.

The apartment was very spacious and modern.. The breakfast was the best we had while in Greece. And when you're there, make sure you try the owners homemade orange cake. It's delicious! Sakis, the owner, arranged for our transportation during the week we were there. We kept the same driver the whole week who was also excellent, and at any given time, he was always just 2 minutes away from us. We are looking forward to our visit next year.

It is right in the old part of town and so close to the beach and port. The bed and bedding is extremely comfortable, the best sleep I’ve had during my trip. Like a cloud! I had a room with balcony and it overlooked terracotta roofs and a beautiful church dome. Breakfast was bountiful, fresh and delicious and Dimitris is an excellent proprietor, friendly and accommodating and quick to reply when I had to ask questions. The hotel is a really nice place for that, as there are just 15 rooms or so, and the ruins of Ancient Greece a few kilometers away. the staff was quite nice and helpful, always available and they did everything they could to serve gluten free dishes as I have a celiac problem. the food was really good, with ingredients of very good quality. to sum up : I wish I could stay a few more days.
