There is so much history here. It really is situated at the crossroads of civilizations. So much excellent food and things to do, and the people are so friendly and helpful. This was our third visit - we can't wait to come back.

So much to see and do!
So much to see and do! The food is really good and very cheap by British standards. The BiH Museum was very good; the bit with the dinosaurs would excite a lot of children, I reckon. Ditto the cable car ride. Sarajevo is full of history, much of it tragic, but such a lovely place.

It was a good idea to take accomodation in the very center of the city. We also booked a guided tour, 3h long, which gave us an idea about the city and its main attractions. The city is an interesting mix of old and new, with marks of the (recent) conflicts and history but also lots of reconstruction going on. Be ready to see a lot of tourists from all over the world and many friendly shops. Take care though, to thiefs!

3 or 4 days is sufficient in Sarajevo. East meets West.
3 or 4 days is sufficient in Sarajevo. East meets West. The contrast between the brutality and destruction of the war 30 years ago coupled with a balance of peace, love, tolerance and harmony is an incredible mix of emotions.
The cable car ride to the top of the mountain provides spectacular views of the city.
For sports lovers visit both football stadiums. Even take in a match. It costs under a tenner.
The food is nearly always exceptionally well priced, in large portions and incredibly tasty. Most main courses between £6 and £12
If you are teetotal and want an alcohol-free beer, the options are a little restrictive although you can find a local beer and Erdinger for c£1.50. Both are extremely palatable. Expect to be questioned as to what is the point of beer without alcohol though !! This city likes to drink.
Once you have exhausted the city hire a car and visit Mostar and Neum.
The scenery is simply stunning.
Recommend kayaking on the Nevretti River.

Mostar is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Bosnia and Herzegovina, renowned for its iconic Stari Most bridge that elegantly spans the Neretva River. The city's cobblestone streets, Ottoman architecture, and warm hospitality make it a picturesque and culturally rich destination. Exploring Mostar is like stepping back in time, where history comes alive at every turn, offering visitors a truly enchanting experience.
Everything, but the staff in particular: friendly, professional and helpful. If it were allowed, I would assign an 11 out of 10 to Hotel Sana. Probably it's the best hotel I have stayed at in the last ten years.
The hotel is situated in an ideal position and is very clean. Breakfast is fabulous. It's possible to book an airport transfer at the reception for a decent price.
Staff are ready to help and to provide suggestions about things to visit. Thank you for everything. I will come back again.
Owner of hostel Igor such a amazing guy. He is a real "Abi" (big brother). He is helpful and also very kind guy. His Hostel is really good place for making friends but not a party hostel. In hostel Rakia is the perfect way to connect with other guest :) Facilities were clean and the beds so comfortable! If you want to book this hostel be aware you cannot cook at the kitchen - not a bad thing as the Bosnian foods are good.
It was great staying here and the owners were very kind. I ended up booking this place last minute when the other place I booked very closeby turned out to be unacceptable to stay. The owners got the place ready for me in less than 10 minutes and very attentive. The flat was super clean and easy walk away from everything. They even kept my bags for as long as I needed to and made suggestions. Highly recommended!
My room was basic and clean. Also the bathroom is too. That is the what I asked for this short trip. If you won’t planning to spend too much time in the room, This hotel is perfect. Damir is also very caring and interested. Location is very central in old city and you can go anywhere touristic on foot. My window directly sees Sebil. If I go back to Sarajevo again I will definitely book here again.
incredible location in the heart of Old Town. walk out the door and you’re in the middle of the charm of it all. Staff were fantastic and made us Bosnian coffee several times upon request. of course, coffee machine, tea, and fresh fruit were available 24/7. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Absolutely recommend Hotel Old Sarajevo as an outstanding option. Will stay here again on future visits!
Bosnians are very hospitable people and this bed and breakfast/hotel is no exception. Everyone from Kerim the receptionist to the breakfast lady are very helpful. Rooms are spacious, Bosnian coffee at breakfast is tasty, and location is great since it’s only a short walk from the old town. I also appreciated that they were able to arrange taxis for me. Thanks!
The services is amazing from A to Z. The host booked me a taxi from the airport. The flat was very clean and tidy and very spacious as well. Needless to say this is a prime location and for me it was very important as all my business meetings took place around.
I've asked for some groceries as well and he managed to get them very quickly. Highly recommended.
Perfect location. 10 out 6 places to see in Bosnia are within wallking distance. In fact it takes 27 minutes to walk to all of them and back to the apartment. We have a 1 year old daughter and even walked back to apartment to change her diaper and feed :) Quiet, clean, very functional. Will definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family
Clean and pretty apartment, very friendly owners, great location. I've booked many apartments in Sarajevo over the years, but this was one of the most solid and pleasant experiences. If you want to stay in an authentic Bosnian house just around the corner of the old town for a really fair price, this is a great choice.
Everything in this hotel was exceptional.
Special thanks to stuff:
1-Velna: she helped us with everything we need related to tourism and even government agencies where we had to do lots of paper work.
2-Amina/Nadina: They helped us in hotel 24/7, they are very friendly and they show us how Bosnian hospitality is.
A very nice experience, the place is elegant and luxurious, the view is beautiful, everything you need is available in the hotel apartments, you rate it Seven Star. Dealing with them is very nice and smooth. They were fine in dealing. I hope anyone who travels to Bosnia will try this hotel apartment. Thank you.
Hotel Anoma is pretty new small hotel. The rooms was good, Unfortunatelly some rooms are without the views. You are looking to another building but it is not problem. I recomend to book rooms with balcony. You can find there everything what you need for stay. The breakfest is ok.
The Gym and Swimming pool
The hotel helped me in the first day with singing on early at 12:30 pm but the room were terrible.
I had a really good price from booking for 3 nights .. and I think that's the reason why the hotel gave me a small terrible consumed room.
Breakfast was very nice, staff was exceptionally helpful and kind, position of small hotel is city center, old town, room was warm and comfy. Could not ask for more. Superb. Will surely come again. Thank you for warm turco-bosnian hospitality.
Place is spacious, neat , located in classic Bosnian neighborhood and we loved the kitty :) Host was welcoming and sweet - parking was ok if you are used to european streets its really fine
This was an ideal place for our needs. Close to the east Sarajevo bus station and spacious enough to relax after some warm travel days throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina
