Situated in the Solitaire Region, The Desert Grace is 30 km south of Solitaire and 60 km north of Sesriem. A buffet-style dinner and breakfast can be enjoyed at the onsite restaurant. Woow, à beautiful very modern Lodge in the desert. A perfect bungalow, very modern and luxurious. The breakfast and Dinner buffet was okay, but for a 5* Lodge somewhat disappointing. The staff was not really friendly like we experienced it at other Lodge. Maybe a touch too modern in the middle of the desert? However, the sundowner drive was very interesting and we had a very good guide who explained everything about the nature and the region.

We liked the ambience of a working farm. We liked interacting with the farm people. We loved to be able to walk and watch birds and see Kudu and other buck in the wild. Located in Ondekaremba, a 1-hour drive from Windhoek, Zannier Hotels Omaanda provides accommodation set within a 9000-hectare private wildlife reserve. Excellent location close to the airport . Very friendly staff Naomi and Andy organised everything to our outmost satisfaction. We will return!

Located south of Solitaire, Namib Naukluft Lodge is set on the private Nam Nau Habitat. Backed by granite hills, the lodge offers an outdoor pool. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar and restaurant. Lovely location and super friendly staff. Great to be able to book a family room that had everything we needed. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious. Overall, a great value.

Offering a garden, Rooisand Desert Ranch offers accommodation on the C26 in Chausib, approximately half-way between Walvis Bay and Windhoek. Free private parking is available on site. It was wonderful to stay at the Rooisand Desert Ranch, which is a great location in a very beautiful area near the Gamsberg Nature Reserve and mountain (approximately 10 km away but in easy viewing distance). The ranch is a natural stop for people traveling between Windhoek and the coast and/or desert. The area has a very clear sky at night, and people sometimes come from afar to watch the stars. There is a path / dirt road to a viewing / stargazing platform a few kilometers from the ranch. It is within easy walking distance, but it is also possible to drive there. I went for a random morning walk in in the neighboring hills and encountered several zebra, springboks and many different kinds of birds. The management and staff were very hospitable and welcoming.
