Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CroatiaNeat room, nice staff. We didn't eat at the hotel, so I can't say anything about the food on offer. Proximity to a tram station and a large shopping center is definitely a big plus. I would personally recommend the hotel, and I believe that I will choose the same hotel next time.

United KingdomThe area itself was a little rough. Not suitable for foreign tourists especially if you're not street wise. I encountered a fight break out with machetes on the street next to the hotel on the way to the metro. Always be vigilant when travelling to and from the hotel. Turns out Venessieux has historically been an area of deprivation and it still shows sadly.
Great hotel, staff lovely and helpful, good facilities including bar-restaurant and chill areas. Room was comfortable if a little utilitarian but perfect for a good night's sleep and to freshen up during a short stay. Location was a little further out of the city, but conveniently located next to a huge Carrefour supermarket, fast food restaurants and tram that takes your directly into the heart of Lyon. Metro was also nearby but a 10minute walk away. Room service was great if a little too attentive. Was running late and they kept trying to service the room even though I was not ready! Otherwise, clean, with fresh linen and toiletries replaced daily. Found my personal belongings carefully placed on the desk as after they tidied and cleaned the room. Very respectful.

New ZealandThe location is a distance from the city, so keep this in mind when booking. There are trams and a metro line which takes you to the central city area but the metro station is a good 15 minute walk to get too.
Nice new hotel with funky rooms. The family room was great with the built in bunks for the kids. There is a great communal space on level 1. Recommend going to the supermarket across the road and purchasing food and drink to have on the balcony.

United KingdomOne staff member looking after checking in and the bar, took a long time to get a beer. Rooms are small but OK for one night. Has a hostel feel.
Convenient location on the outskirts of Lyon, serviceable for our stay to watch the rugby. Modern facilities. Big supermarket across the road.

New ZealandBreakfast was basic and often ran out of food and drink and not enough staff during this busy time. The location is a ways out, however 10 minute walk to the metro which can get you into Lyon within 15 minutes. Fairly pricey, however it was during a Rugby World Cup period where all accommodation in Lyon was at a premium.
Nice new hotel, which has a hostel type vibe. Double rooms are small but provides the necessary functions of a room. Level 1 is a good hangout space and. I recommend using that as a social, eating space. Many people bought food and drink at the supermarket across the road and prepared and ate it on level 1. Family rooms excellent with the in-built bunk beds and kids loved the foozeball table on level 1.

NetherlandsNo private/secure parking, so not ideal for an overnight stop en-route to your holiday destination. There is a private parking next door at Leroy Merlin/IKEA, but at €10,40 per 2 hours that’s an expensive option. The elevators did not work when we were there.
Good location, Carrefour supermarket next door. Small but decent rooms, friendly staff.
