How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Pizzas 🍕 were very good and great value. Would definitely recommend and if I'm in the area again, will definitely stay again...Definitely value for money xx

The mattress was a little hard.

The staff (Darren) absolutely made me feel home. They all ready to answer all your questions, help you as much as they can or have a little chat with you end of the night! If you are eating pizza for your dinner you don’t need to go to the town because they do an amazing one! If I am going back to Snowdonia I defiantly would stay there! Thanks a lot for everything!

Gallt y Glyn Hostel offers a refreshing retreat amidst nature's splendor. The rooms and toilets are kept impeccably clean, fostering a comfortable stay. The vibrant atmosphere is infectious, thanks to the amiable staff who eagerly share trekking tips, enhancing the adventure spirit. Plus, the breathtaking mountain views from the rooms elevate the experience. However, a minor hiccup was encountered with an unclean cup in the room, swiftly resolved by the responsive staff who promptly provided replacements. Overall, a delightful stay with exceptional service and scenery.

Some toiletries would have made it a 9/10.
The best thing about this hostel is the restaurant which does the best pizzas! Unfortunately it wasn’t open on Tuesday when we stayed but we still had a lovely stay. It is only a short walk into Llanberis for other pubs and restaurants. The room was small but cosy and the bed was comfy. We appreciated tea making facilities. We received a warm welcome from the host.

More of a suggestion, breakfast was good however, it'll be good if they can include eggs for breakfast (the hostel can take prepaid breakfast charges if providing eggs). I understand why it's not included though. Thanks for the hospitality!!

Wonderful welcome, Elin and Darren were very friendly and helpful. Excellent value for money, the room was warm and comfortable. The location is perfect for getting to nearby mountains and to Llanberis centre.

A chair in the room would have made it even better so you could look out at the birds and wildlife. Even a little foldable one would be great
Fabulous location, close enough to town for drinks and walking but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. Staff were wonderful, and the bar is a great spot for food and a pint. It was exceptionaly good value.

The room is a bit small which wasn't bad for 2 people but will get a bit cramped with many people.
The owner was super nice and allowed me to drop my bags off early and keep them there after I had checked out! The room is rather simple but comfortable each bed has a little shelf for your things and a reading light which is nice. There is also an electric kettle and teas/coffee which is nice.

It said there was a kitchen on booking.com but there wasn’t, it was just the restaurant. There was no hand soap for the bathrooms and no lock on the door (as our bathroom specifically was a closet)
The pizza was really nice and accommodating to those that are vegan and lactose intolerant! The bed was really comfy too which was good after a long hike and scramble up mount tryfan :)

Bathroom could've been cleaner, but it was still acceptable. Also no kitchen.
Accessibility with the car was fantastic. Everything you need for a short trip. Water cooker, tea and milk were present.

Little loud around 9pm (we were in room 9) but, nothing that kept us awake! Not even sure the noise was from here …. Was quite nice (as my 10 year old said) to listen to “happy birthday” being sang lol
Location was fab but staff even better! Couldn’t do enough for us (me and my 10 year old daughter), pizzas are amazing so if you stay we’d highly recommend having one! When we arrived there were people arriving just for takeout! When we return next year this is the first place we’ll contact!
