The excellent staff service. Went over and above for us. Especially the lady that checked us in she was wonderful so friendly and helpful after we had driven a very long way. A real asset to her team.

Our bedroom had a small window with little view. We were up on the second floor with 4 flights of stairs.

The location by the river Exe was superb, especially on a warm sunny day. The menu was better than your normal pub grub albeit slightly limited. Very clean and comfortable.

I wish there had been a little bar of soap for the bath. I asked for one, but none could be found. The wall mounted containers were NOT good for taking a bath.

I was able to walk from the train station to the hotel, to the city center, to the cathedral, along the river. I only had to take a taxi to get to the University.

The first room we stayed in smelt strong of paint and the bath didn't drain very well plus you could hear the road noise as there was onky half double glazing. We were moved to another room which was lovely. The Espresso coffee pods were awful.

Loved the decor and friendly staff. The beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and there was a good selection.

Slow breakfast with inexperienced staff. I would hope that management intervention will iron out this issue.

Recently refurbished the room had been professionally dressed with beautiful colours and pictures. It was bright and airy and comfortable. The bathroom was very good with a great shower. Friendly staff and a perfect location to relax by the river, to walk into town and to the quay.

Breakfast was included and we chose the full English, sadly everything on our plates was overcooked - I can't imagine that this is always the case due to the reviews. Other choices were fruits, cereals, bread, cakes etc.

Good location as only a few minutes walk to the high street and as we were there for shopping it was perfect. We also chose The Mill on The Exe because it closeness to the river Exe. It was January so and we didn't expect to sit outside but on arrival we found the Exe in flood and raging waters. Very exciting to see. Our room and walk-in shower were excellent and had everything you could want including a coffee machine. We ate in their buzzing restaurant that evening (above average pub food) with excellent service. Free parking too, such a bonus as well to arrive at 1030 am and park all day whilst we shopped. Just a word here on what else Exeter offers - just off the high street you have the cathedral (definitely worth a visit) unusual old houses, a large green area and more, so it's worth a detour.

The location was ideal for walking along the riverside and also 10 minute walk, slightly uphill, to city centre. Choice for cooked breakfast excellent. However if only having continental choice limited.

Very nice room, full accessories, hair dryer, fan, kettle, good selection of hot drink stuff, water bottles, nice soap etc. Very comfortable king size bed, nice decor, except some picture frames made of scrap wood! Very clean. Very nice breakfast and other bar food.

It needed a little bit of tlc, the paintwork needed touching up as it was a bit run down but it did not deflect from it being a lovely top quality hotel

Rooms were very spacious and clean and very quiet considering we were on the main road. Some rooms had a second door to stop any noise from the other guests. There was a big bed in the room, comfortable clean bed, coffee facilities and fans in room were top quality. The bar and restaurant were lovely, we had dinner and breakfast and the food quality was amazing. The staff were attentive and friendly.
