The service, very poor.

Breakfast was good. Waiting on staff were poor. Slow, did not know how to make toast, had to wait for tea until half way thru eating, only got it after asking again.

A bit more space between dinners in the resturant. I would have preferred my breakfast outside as I had my evening meals.

Warm welcome on arrival, all staff friendly, food all home made was very good. The Hotel being 400 years old has great character with a cosy bar, in fact we felt very relaxed and had a great time

A little run down but the atmosphere and locals more than made up for it. Room 2 could do with some TLC. You get what you pay for.

Lovely bar and food (try the pie!) excellent staff! Comfy beds. Would definitely stay here again!

It is a tired property & the rooms need some money spending on them, our room didn’t have a shower only a bath, none of the windows could be opened so therefore it was very hot with no ventilation.

The property is in a lovely location, the staff are all helpful & friendly, the meals were all very good.

rooms were very basic no shower only a bath . bathroom door was hanging off its runners no bedside table or reading light for the single bed getting the right breakfast to the right table was a lottery all told a bit of a disappointing stay

Needs an update however, as an 15th century building you would expect it to be a bit rough round the edges. A lick of paint and some modernising wouldnt go amiss but not too much otherwise you would take away from the character.

Great location, staff very accommodating and friendly, four poster bed which was very comfy. Lovely welcoming atmosphere.

a TV that didn't work (although we were not that bothered as we didn't go there to watch tv) broken chair in the room we were told not to sit on !! bathroom very very tired , coming in one evening around 9 to witness the end of an altercation that involved some of the staff, the air had turned blue.

lovely location, nice room, 4 poster bed, clean towels everyday , everything you needed, breakfast good, with a good selection. Served every morning, by Leanne who was excellent , nothing too much trouble for her, very friendly.

Shower and toilet ensuite ,were tired looking and the loo was a mechanical loo which didn't always work. one felt worried using it in case it became blocked. One member of staff at breakfast seemed 'not on the plot!'

The property’s interior looked very tired especially the downstairs. The main bar was bare and the dining room ceiling looked like it could fall down any time.

We knew when we booked that the rooms were dated and in need of refurbishment and were surprised to find our room (number 14) wasn't too bad. The bed was clean and comfortable, but unfortunately the rest of the room needed a good clean. The tea cups were stained and had not been washed from the previous occupants and the window was dirty and full of spiders and dead flies. The shower had no power and the shower hose was thick in black mould, after seeing this I made the decision to strip wash rather than use. The television did not work when I asked about this I was told the aerial had been down for months, I thought it would have been useful for staff to mention this at check in so that we didn't spend time trying to get it to work.

Staff were friendly and approachable. Location was good. The bed was clean and comfortable.

Nothing particular. Maybe some minor difficulties after long lockdown-slightly out of practice.

Fascinating old building on the green at Bainbridge.Four-poster bed in quirky room with fine view.Very comfortable & quiet .Good filling full English breakfast.Staff extremely friendly & willing to go the extra mile(eg produced tasty lunch on arrival although officially closed just then) Grand filling pub dinner in spacious dining room with family from Scotland--very accommodating to our 8-year old great-niece. Pies & Giant Yorkshires a speciality.Pleased we could book a single night in such a prime location.

The floor had not been hoovered and was full of dog hair. The bathroom floor had not been swept or mopped for sometime. The rooms are very tired and need desperately redecorating. The ceiling in the dining room was in a poor state and all the furniture was sticky. A deep clean is desperately needed.

Hot water plenty of. The bedding was clean. The staff were very welcoming and the food was home cooked and plenty of it.

The room was clean and tidy, but due to the hot weather, it was difficult to sleep as one couldn't open wide the window.

The location is wonderful. The staff were very friendly and always approachable. The food was always delivered on time and the choice excellently cooked.

Waitress who served was very surly and never smiled and we had to ask more than once for some things. The room could have done with being refurbished and the toilet door didnt fit properly

Breakfast was ample and hot. Evening meal not included but we ate there both nights and the meals were excellent and plentiful. Most of the saff were very friendly and helpful.
