How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Very impersonal and clinical. Metal cup supplied to make hot drink!! No spoons supplied! Oversized bed made room very tight to move around.
Excellent location. Fresh and clean decor.

Modern and comfortable
We took 2 rooms for family of 5. The rooms were interleading which was convenient. Very central. Close to Namba and Shinsekai areas and easy to get to Doyinburi. Easy access to Namba main station entrances

Room had three beds plus sofa bed. We booked for three, would be better to not fold out the sofa bed as space is limited.
Location just cannot be better. Beds good, quiet room also, which is surprising looking at the location

Sheets didn’t quite fit the bed (double bed) so was annoying. The window was frosted so felt a little trapped as could not see out.
Location was excellent. Staff at check in were friendly. Shower brilliant. Beds comfy.

Location was great, close to train stations, restaurants and malls. Very clean, free access to service cart and of good quality. All the beds were comfortable, even the sofa bed! Hard to find rooms with so many beds in this area! The shower was the highlight!

Perfect position in Gion district - can walk to most attractions including Nishiki Markets and shopping district. Room was much bigger than others we stayed in, in Japan.

Frosted contact windows for privacy of neighbouring properties but equates to no view and also the shower had some pink bacteria on the floor grout. It was otherwise perfect for what we needed. No common area to chill out in with friends who were also guests in another room. Everything in the surrounding area doesn't open until 5-6pm.
The beds!! The smart hotel vibe!! Friendly staff! Super new and clean! Rooms were also on the bigger side for a Japan sized room. The sofa bed as an extra bed was handy too. But removes sitting space in the room if utilised.

I wish the bathroom and shower area was a little bigger. Would be great if check in time could be a little earlier and check out time could be a bit later
Location, location location! Great size and layout of the room. Loved the Nordic, clean interiors There was a closet in the room where you could store your luggage which allowed us space to walk around the room. They have towels and amenities available on each floor - hair tie, toilet paper, towels which was a great touch . Many close restaurants walking distance The old city gion is just a stones throw away and you feel like you have been brought back in time. So charming and loved walking the old streets

Reception desk was only open between 14.00 and 23.00. Could not transfer luggage from this hotel to next hotel, had to take luggage to near by 7/11.
Excellent location right amongst the restaurants and bars. Room was big and well laid out compared to most in Japan. Staff were friendly and helpful when reception desk was open.

The windows were covered with white protective covering which I’m sure is great to keep heat out or warmth in but you cannot see out. Didn’t matter for us as we were just there to sleep.
Seemed like brand new room, fresh and well set out. Right close in town and great opportunities to walk around and discover some great areas. Gion and the city shopping district. Super close to the river.

The hotel was literally a week old and it was brand new (Nov 20, 2023). Everything was great. Loved the toiletry card in the hallway, the laundry. The very nice receptionist! Amazing place in Gion District!

Finding such a beautiful room at that price in that area was incredible. The staff members are all very friendly and welcoming. The bed was really comfortable!

Very nice hotel in the nicest neighborhood in Kyoto, Gion. The room was very spacious (especially for Japan standards), clean and the beds were very comfortable. All facilities nearby. Would highly recommend and hopefully stay again.

The room was spacious and had a big closet but the space dedicated to the bathroom was very small and there is no kitchen. The sink was outside of the toilet/shower room and extremely small which made it hard to share with 4 other people. The shower had very little ventilation so the toilet/shower room was very damp. We found an item from a prior guest that didn't belong to us in the room. Also as we were getting ready to check out, the AC unit over the single bed suddenly leaked a ton of water and we had to make a pile of towels under it. We got a studio for a group of 5, would maybe recommend getting a larger room or having a smaller group for the studio.
Kabin is located very close to the main tourist area of kyoto, which is nice because you can just walk to all the main shopping areas (but also means you see more tourists than native people). Large smart TV was also a nice touch. They have a space to store your luggage before/after you check out which was very helpful. Surprisingly quiet for being so close to a major road.

Bed sheets and covers don’t fit the beds well and it crumples and tangles and feels messy to sleep in. 2 laundry rooms available but other guests leave their laundry in too long making it impossible to do laundry (needs better management). Only saw the front desk reception when we checked in and once again. I feel they should be more present to assist guests.
Great location. Fantastic bathroom with shower. Great help yourself amenities.
