How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The room was spacious, lots of natural light, windows could be opened, clean, proper dedicated desk, great electronic controls: clear display and even the curtains were controlled from there. Good bathroom with walk-in rain shower etc etc

Bathroom needs its own light switch. Need to light up whole room to turn bathroom light on.

Excellent location. Friendly and helpful staff. The room was quiet, the bed comfortable. The bar was a welcome place to enjoy a drink and a lite bite in the evenings after a busy day in Amsterdam.

Air conditioning is centrally controlled from reception. Controls in your room do absolutely nothing. We had to specifically request air con to be switched on and system seems to revert back to off by default at 11:00 each day.
Location is absolutely incredible. Hotel itself is tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The team are also making a big effort in terms of sustainability. Folks working there are lovely and really helpful.

Found it a bit of a maze to get from the hotel entrance(s) up to the lifts/rooms. Would have appreciated a microwave on the premises for guests to use.
Location near Vondelpark, best shower ever, and nice amenities in the room like espresso machine and mini fridge (with complimentary water).

The controls for the lights/curtain and the motion sensor would light up every time we turned over. But otherwise really great.
Great location in a beautiful neighborhood and close to the gorgeous Vondelpark. Lots of restaurants nearby. Comfy bed, great shower. Trees and plants all around. Friendly staff. Delicious breakfast.

The location is really conveniently located near the Vondelpark and in a great neighbourhood, not far from the central attractions. The amenities are compact, tastefully decorated, the staff well trained, super efficient and genuinely friendly.

Something that disappointed me a little was the service of the staff, especially at the main table. We asked multiple questions about recommendations and places to visit (since it was our first time in Amsterdam) and all the time it was that they don't know and once one of the staff told us, "google it" - this is definitely not good service. The breakfast, if not included and you have to pay for it is a bit overpriced - I recommend going to the bakery nearby and you get a better breakfast for a lower price.
The area where the hotel is located is excellent, in fact it gives you a sense of security and high standard. The area has some very nice restaurants and beautiful places to go for a walk. The hotel restaurant is very good for dinner and the bar makes very good cocktails.

Nothing really,the only disruption was aircraft landing,we were directly under the flight path.
Excellent location,near trams & walking distance to some major attractions,yet in a tranquil ,up market part of the city.Very comfortable rooms.A buzzing restaurant,and small relaxed bar area serving food also.A water station in reception for free top ups was useful & a supply of sturdy hotel umbrellas came in handy during our stay.

We didn’t like that the floor in our room wasn’t vacuumed every day. We stayed eight nights and by the end of our trip, the floors felt gritty and dirty. It would also be helpful to have the toiletries replenished daily (we had to request more on the third day after running out of body wash). It would also be helpful to have extra creamer in the rooms for coffee.
We liked that the property was located in a nice neighborhood away from the busy downtown area but easy to walk to public transportation.
