Donegal is a beautiful area, rugged and less crowded in April. Would highly recommend this area, particularly to people who like walking/hiking opportunities. Slieve League is a must and Glenveagh castle and gardens, which are open, are charming. Other attractions in the area are worth a visit.

North west Donegal has spectacular beaches without any doubt. There are far too many houses built on land that has sea views, this has to be ignored by any visitors.
The Fanad peninsula was the best place, not as developed.

Donegal is one of the loveliest parts of Ireland and always worth a visit, from the wild countryside to Errigal mountain and the rugged coastline. The people are very friendly and welcoming. This was a short visit, but I have been before and stayed longer.

O' Donnell castle or Donegal castle was the highlight of our stay, plus a visit to Slieve League, as it was raining so much we just travelled around in the care, taking in the views as we could. Donegal is a great County to visit but you need the sunshine to see it at its best. If you visit Ireland, Donegal is a must place to go. Tara Hotel in Killybegs is the place to have your meals, great food great staff.
This hotel was nicely located in the center of town within walking distance to many pubs with live music. Blazers restaurant was a big hit with an awesome waiter. I had a really good steak for dinner.
A bonus is right when we were about to hit the road to the next destination the cleaning staff found our credit card we thought we lost earlier in our trip. They called us right away and we were able to unlock it and keep using it. Thanks for the wonderful stay!
The hotel is right in the main square and very accessible. It is busy, with excellent staff and facilities, we enjoyed the restaurant and the breakfast. Lift available. Our very comfortable room overlooked the square, so a tad noisy with the window open, but not a problem for us. We enjoyed the lively scene.
The area around Donegal town is interesting, beautiful and not too busy with tourists.
We'd happily stay again if we could.
Beautiful room, comfortable bed and excellent breakfast. Also owners Michael and Geraldine were extraordinarily helpful when we got a flat tire and they were able to find someone to replace it on the holiday weekend so that we could continue our travels. We felt so fortunate to have staying with them and would recommend their place to anyone visiting Donegal Town. They also got us reservations for a great restaurant.
The location is super quaint and peaceful, I can imagine it would be great for a couple to have a romantic getaway. The "tent" was very warm and the furniture was comfortable. The cabin was well stocked with tea and other essentials. The cabin is surprisingly large too, it's bigger than a lot of hotel rooms in Ireland that I've stayed in. The owner is very attentive and helpful.
We liked how close it is to Donegal town - 10 min walk, 4 min drive. Its surrounded by pasture, quiet and beautiful. The building is older but well up dated. The breakfasts are delicious. Theresa and Sofia take such good care of you! Theresa is helpful with suggestions, answers to questions and available when needed.
Donegal Town House is a perfect choice as it is 2 mins from town on foot and perfectly situated for all the major routes.
The house is very comfortable with lovely views from the living room window and really comfy beds.
Aidan, our host, was very informative, and we had a lovely welcome pack awaiting our arrival.
The included breakfast was nice and the breakfast itself was really good. The check-in process was very easy and hassle-free. The host was extremely kind, and the location of the place was super close to everything in Donegal (which is also a really nice town).
This is in a good location for the centre of Donegal Town and for exploring this part of the West of Ireland. It is clean, friendly and well equipped, a thoroughly pleasant place to stay, at a reasonable price. Shaun was particularly helpful
Spotlessly clean, spacious , nicely decorated room, with good sized bathroom, and good shower. Comfortable bed. Excellent location, minutes walk to Donegal town centre.Lovely friendly staff. Excellent breakfast . Highly recommend.
Everything was wonderful - location is exceptional with gorgeous views and not far from Donegal Town. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable. Food is excellent - breakfast has a fantastic choice, had dinner on
It was well located to Donegal town and surrounding area for sightseeing e.g. Killybegs, Slieve league, Glencolimcille, Ardara etc. close to Lidl and other food outlets. We had a room each, was quiet, clean.
It was quiet, cozy, peaceful, had a great breakfast, and was my favorite place we stayed on our trip to Ireland. would stay here again absolutely if i'm lucky enough to come back to Donegal.
Beautiful comfortable, clean, fresh home and so easy to get to Donegal town or surrounding areas, very central. Spoke with Ann on the phone and she is so lovely.
Walking distance to donegal town.
Beautiful & comfortable bed room with shower and bath. Leisure facility was great with swimming pool, steam room & hot tub.
