I am a PhD student at EUR and this is the perfect hotel for me - it is close to university, it has spaces to work, great cafe/bar with food and good coffee.
I enjoy the student atmosphere (although I am a mature student, I don’t feel out of place), and all staff are really friendly. My room was quiet and I used the gym and communal working spaces.

Traveling as two girls in Rotterdam was a great experience,...
Traveling as two girls in Rotterdam was a great experience, as we always felt very safe. The places we visited, such as The Markthal, were amazing. We tried lots of different foods and were awed by the architecture, which was one of the main reasons we visited. Additionally, if you're traveling by car, be prepared for high parking costs. However, I highly recommend parking at Melanchtonweg and taking the train back to Rotterdam center if you're open to using public transport. Lastly, Jaffa Shoarma was a delightful experience with excellent falafel durums. It's a great spot for a late-night warm snack, and the music and people were very friendly and entertaining :)

Avoid this city at all costs.
Avoid this city at all costs. Between their sad and expensive food and their "too state of the art" architecture lies a city full of addicts and petty thieves.
Might recommend if you want to live a full Gotham city experience.

Very amenable city.
Very amenable city. Not as crowded or crazy as Amsterdam, but with plenty of sights to see especially considering that The Hague is within range of the metro. For one person traveling alone it would even make sense to stay in Rotterdam and commute to Amsterdam. Even after the cost of daily roundtrip intercity train fare you'll likely come out ahead on cost, and the train trip is only about 45 minutes.

Rotterdam was not as crowded as Amsterdam.
Rotterdam was not as crowded as Amsterdam. The transport was excellent and it was easy to get around, even in middle suburbs. Het Park was a lovely place to spend time in. Markhal was fun to look around.
The hotel is 10 min walk from the central station and next to pedestrian aria with shops and food. It is 10 min walk from Markthal and the cube houses (if you want to visit this part of the central area of Rotterdam).
When we arrived we got free room upgrade, which was really great. The staff was very helpful and explained everything about our stay in details.
There is 24/7 market stall in the hotel, where you can get something for breakfast and pay for what you get. The selection was a bit limited, but the food was delicious.
The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful; I had the impression they really cared about guests and helping them have a good time in Rotterdam. They handled a small tech problem caused by my current adapter with good humor and efficiency. Breakfast was ample and varied, served in a pleasant cafe area. My room was comfortable and (except for footsteps overhead) quiet. The hotel has a hip, designed vibe without being exclusive.
I had an amazing stay at the Grand Hotel Central in Rotterdam. The location couldn't have been more perfect, right in the heart of the city. The staff, especially Cedric, were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to assist me with everything I needed. The hotel itself was spotlessly clean and provided a relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Rotterdam; it truly made my trip memorable."
Cosy little room, very bright thanks to its big window.
Everything in it is modern (including Bluetooth speakers you can use).
You have to climb to get on the bed but it is big and cosy - tucked in between the walls and the big window.
It is located in a central part of Rotterdam, with a tram station right outside.
The reception staff (at hotel Emma, across the road, where you check-in) was very polite and friendly.
Quite a pleasant and well-maintained hotel. The room is very spacious, and the Wi-Fi is consistently stable. While the hotel is not in the city center, its location is excellent considering Rotterdam is a small, highly cyclable city with excellent transportation services. It's a great choice to escape the hustle and bustle of the center. The surroundings are calm and safe.
Great location, close to the heart of Rotterdam. The room was very clean and comfortable - nicely decorated. Good shower. Loved being able to check in and out using the machine - super quick. Even though the hotel is on de Meent with many busy bars and restaurants outside we didn’t hear a sound in our room - amazing. All in all a great stay.
This brand new business hotel opened only two days before I stayed there, it's a very convenient place just next door to Ahoy Rotterdam. Beautiful and comfortable room, however, space for luggage is limited.
Fantastic breakfast! Staff is super friendly and helpful, be it at the reception, in the restaurant or around facility staff.
The location was excellent. Situated within walking distance from the Rotterdam Centraal station and with tram stations just around the street, Hilton Rotterdam is pretty accessible if you want to travel within the city or outside. The hotel staff is very helpful and would do their best to ensure that you have a pleasant stay.
The apartment is very clean and spacious. Big window for natural light enable me to see the city in day time and night time. Besides its' location in the city center, it eased us in finding food and shops . The staffs are helpful as well and willing to answer any questions . Will stay here again if I visit Rotterdam
The room was very clean and quite spacious with a lovely view of the city. The bed was extremely comfortable, and I liked the fact that the shampoo and soap were vegan.
The location is excellent, right in the center of Rotterdam.
The entire hotel is very new, and everything was in good condition.
The location is incredible, right in the heart of Blaak which is well connected to all main attractions. The creative renovation of the hotel (previously a bank building) adds to the quirk of the place, fitting perfectly in the creative city of Rotterdam.
Even though it is located right next to the apron of the Rotterdam Airport where most jetliners start their engines, it was very quiet due to perfect fit soundproof windows Plus all the staffs were extremely helpful to our inquiries and requests.
Very good central location with respect to Rotterdam centrum and the main train station
Good for working a day in the hotel, no Wi-Fi issues whatsoever (in room, did not try 'business center')
Quiet rooms, even though close to busy road
A very comfortable hotel with super friendly staff and a convenient location, not far from the train station and downtown Rotterdam. I was offered a reasonably priced upgrade, which I happily accepted. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Brilliant hotel, didn't even need to go into Rotterdam proper. Food court connected downstairs with bar, table tennis and 10+ different cuisines. Spent the time in that area for the most part, didn't see much of Rotterdam, no regrets.
A unique hotel interior, and friendly staff who stored our luggage for us both before check in and after check out.
Additionally, the hotel was located a short walk from Rotterdam Centraal, which made the rest of the city accessible.
- Hotel design
- Soundproof and good bed / interior design
- Good facilities
- Good location, close to landmarks, restaurants and 20minutes walking from Rotterdam Centraal train station.
- Good breakfast (15 euros)
Amazing location it's just opposite to the Rotterdam central station. Very clean and facilities are very good. Our kids enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this hotel.
