The hotel is conveniently located near both the train and bus stations, which is perfect for first-time travelers to Zermatt, especially considering the hilly terrain. I was pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness of my room and the stunning Matterhorn view it offered. The option for daily cleaning provided by the hotel was a nice touch. I decided to go for the breakfast option for one day, and it was very reasonably priced compared to the rest of Zermatt's dining scene. The staff, who I believe are family members, were incredibly welcoming and hospitable. Thank you for a wonderful welcome.

Amazing place, highly recommend. We took the cog railway to the Gornergrat and the cable car to the small Matternhorn. Beautiful views.
Classic breakfast - selection: salami, ham, cheeses, pastries, fruit, coffee, tea, cocoa, jams, cornflakes, yogurts, eggs... . Transportation: we mostly walked, it's not a big resort. We went to the start of the cable car in a 6-seater electric taxi. You could also pay by credit card, the taxi driver was very accommodating.

Its mesmerizing and must visit place, especially during snowing time. Entire Zermatt town covered with snow is a must see. Walking around the old cobble stoned streets and the trip to Gornergrat in snowing time is a thrilling experience.

We stopped in Zermatt as a way station so that we coud take the Glacier Express from Zermatt to St. Moritz, after visting Geneva for a week. The Glacier Express is a fantastic, slow train ride across the country with amazing views of the Alps and so much more. While in Zermatt, we went up to Glacier Paradise (over 13,000 feet high) so get a close up view of the Matterhorn and Alps - simply stunning. The ice cave there is pretty cool, too, all puns intended.
We're not skiers and Zermatt is obviously a world-class ski resort, but there's plenty to do for non-skiers, great restaurants, and of course, the amazing scenery.
It's really worth a visit as well as a ride on the Express to see the countryside. (If you're a couple, go first class and get the single seats facing each other with a table in between. Skip the meal though - it was lousy and served way too early because they have so many to serve - in our case, chicken tetrazzini at 11a.m. Not ideal. Just bring some good food on with you, and order cappuccinos or drinks on board if you want - there's service at the seats.)
(The attached photos are from Glacier Paradise and it's ice cave.)

Lively touristy town.
Lively touristy town. Advertised as being free of cars (neccessary because of the narrow streets) In practice, so full of electric taxis and delivery vehicles that one feels no benefit. As in other winter resorts, one's enjoyment is very dependent on the weather. We were very disappointed by the poor signage for winter/in-between-season walking paths

We chose Zermatt for a family ski vacation in late season and chose a chalet close to the Matterhorn Express station. We enjoyed the skiing, and on mountain dining at Chez Vrony, and Gitz-Gädi Restaurant. To get around Zermatt we utilized taxi, busses and walking. Since there are no cars it is exceptionally pedestrian friendly. Do note that free bus system closes at 7:30pm so if you stay out late you will need to walk for pay for expensive taxi. Since our chalet we had a kitchen and chose to shop at the market and prepare many of our meals which is cheaper than eating out.

Loved this city so much!!
Loved this city so much!! It is a no car city, so be prepared to walk a lot! Food is expensive, so be prepared. Absolutely loved the city for walking around and enjoying the scenery of the Alps. The skiing is unmatched !
Our room was spacious, it was very clean and had everything we needed. We had a fantastic view of the Matterhorn from our balcony. The breakfast was plentiful, with a great choice of food and drink. You have the option to make your own pancakes, waffles, eggs etc, which was a great touch. The staff were fantastic and very attentive. We also enjoyed the health spa facilities, very clean, and great after a day skiing. We thought that this family run hotel is one of the best that we have stayed in, certainly the most welcoming.
Wow! Where do we start? The staff were over the top in their help, their customer service, and their kindness. It was like coming back to family every time we returned from an outing. They would always ask us how we were and what we ended up doing. The food was phenomenal and the hotel itself was exquisite. Such a special place. It will always be our home away from home if we are lucky enough to visit Zermatt again. And we know the staff will welcome us back and ask how we have been. Breathtakingly beautiful property!
probably best hotel I've stayed in. Very large for a single room and large comfy bed. Balcony with view of Matterhorn. Kettle & fridge! Large indoor swimming pool and I was the only one in most of the time. Great breakfast buffet that varied daily a bit, with good selection of cheese and even smoked samon, with what seedmed like home made horseradish sauce. A house maid also came round every evening to make sure everything was okaywith the room! Only a short walk to both of the main ski lifts.
If I could give the owner of this hotel a 20 out of 10, I absolutely would. Monique has a lot of love and passion for her hotel and her guests and it shows through in every aspect of this wonderful hotel. We stayed in the best room with a view of the matterhorn and she made sure we were happy. Her bar was always packed and it is low season and her restaurant full (again low season). Her food was exceptional and the service outstanding!!
You must stay here on your next trip to Zermatt.
EVERYTHING. From the time they picked us up at the Zermatt station until they dropped us back everything was exceptional. Very hospitable staff, amazing hotel, great breakfast, the best rooms during our stay across Switzerland. Powerful air conditioned rooms unlike rest of Switzerland (we were lucky as Switzerland was going through a massive heatwave). The bar in the ground floor, the swimming pool, the bed and the bathroom/toilet were very well planned. Will surely be returning
The location of this Hotel is the best possible spot in the village of Zermatt. You're in the center of the main road where you can look out your balcony and view the center of activity or sit at the picnic tables on the hotel front porch and enjoy the view while you feel part of the festivities. Best of all the Zermatt train station is literally directly across the street. It's the most convenient location I've ever stayed while touring Europe.
The room had a great view which allowed us to see the Matterhorn as well as nearby mountains. The check-in staff ( Karen)
was responsible for upgrading our room so that we had such visibility from our balcony. Karen also accommodated us by keeping our luggage since we arrived early.
We travelled to 5 cities in Switzerland as a party of 4. We all agreed that our stay in Zermatt at Hotel Arcxa Soilebad & Spa was our favorite!
True excellence all around. The welcome from staff at check is outstanding - more hospitable than many ultra luxury hotels. Hannah at check on spent 30 mins acquaint us with the village and mountain. We felt like family. Hotel is super clean, great earth tones minimalistic decor, location is great and the balcony rooms have a great view of the Matterhorn. Definitely recommend to others.
This is one of the best staff I had in a hotel. I came here many years ago and I remembered the same, the staff is exceptionnal, really gives you the impression to feel at home. The restaurant is also great, such as the facilities and the spa with the wonderful pool. And the nice view above Zermatt, and so many things you'll have to discover... You really will enjoy this place.
Hotel Romantica is an unique property with a couple of 220 year old loft cabins available to reserve. It’s in the heart of Zermatt, so the main drag is just steps away. But the best part of Hotel Romantica are Michelle and Thor. The innkeepers are the most kind, inviting and warm hosts! Their attention to everything made our stay something special!
I was lucky to secure a booking with nomad on my trip to Zermatt as most of the other properties were sold out or didn’t get good reviews .the standards of the hotel /facilities / restaurants / were one of the best i have ever stayed in !!Nothing is wrong or needs to be bettered or changed .I’d give it a 10
Everything about Hotel Capricorn was amazing - the family owned feel, the staff (especially Valerie and Barbara) who made sure we had nothing but the best during our stay. The hot tub and views of the Matterhorn are remarkable, the wellness center was fantastic and the breakfast was delicious.
Antika upgraded my room free of charge which was excellent hospitality. Besides that the hotel is in an excellent location for skiing access with the bus stop literally right outside of the ski door. The main area of restaurants in Zermatt is also right close by. Very happy with my stay!
Everything was perfect. The receptionist was very lovely, friendly and helpful. We were impressed and enjoyed our stay at this lovely boutique hotel. Room was excellent, spacious snd clean. Superb view from the balcony. We will stay here when we visit Zermatt :)
I booked it for my friend coming from England, it was their first time in switzerland, And They told me it was the "BEST HOLIDAY" , mostly staying in this hotel we've booked for them they've enjoyed a lot. Thank you so much 💝🥰
At Hotel Parnass we felt like we were staying with family. The staff answered every question and solved every problem, even giving us inside advice about where to ski. We will return to this location every time we visit Zermatt.
Best Western Boutique Hotel staff and facility were fantastic. Dining, including the breakfast was varied and plentiful. Room cleanliness and feint desk staff were professional and courteous.
