Hotel Croce Di Malta, hotel in Florence

Just around the corner from Santa Maria Novella Church and the train station, Florence's Hotel Croce di Malta is a former convent featuring a lovely inner garden with swimming pool.

The location was great for us as we were doing some excursions that involved going to the train station (Santa Novella), which was only about 8 minutes away. It was also close to main attraction and had good restaurants nearby. Osteria Pastella along the road was amazing, but you must book before you get there! The hotel has been modernised, big rooms and has a great pool and provide a great breakfast

Located close to SMN train station. Very friendly and helpful staff. Huge room with high ceiling had a fresco painted on it. Comfortable bed, nice bathroom, nice breakfast room and selections, cappuccino made to order. Had a small patio, and little areas to rest in if you were not in your room. Very short walk to the Duomo. Would highly recommend this hotel. Grazie Mille

The city is packed with museums and cultural masterpieces. ~The quality of presentation was excellent and even in the Uffizi/Duomo etc whilst queues were quite long, they moved fairly smoothly. Nearly all the placards and information was in Italian (obviously) but also in English (phew!!) I walked at least 5 miles a day which was great for my step count, I used the Firense card which involved a certain amount of admin but as we were visiting a couple of museums a day so probably saved a bit of money. The central district is quite compact so we didn't need to use public transport.

    Incredible museums, art, and history.

Incredible museums, art, and history. Recommend the Firenze pass, as it allows you to skip some of the lines and is a great value as long as you have time to visit several museums. Note, there are a couple museums (Uffizi and Accademia- where David is located) which currently require reservations. They can be made after purchasing the pass either in person (which we did, late afternoon at the Uffizi) or online. We walked everywhere, and this hotel was also within walking distance of the train station.

Great that you can walk everywhere... every turn offers you something to look at......Despite buying tickets for Uffizi upfront, the queues were ridiculous. We thoroughly enjoyed Santa Croce, beautiful place, straight in and soo peaceful in all the hussle and bussle around... We were there early May and it was busy so can imagine it in the height of summer being extreme (not for us). Ate in a number of places, found Trattoria da Guido lovely!

So adorable! This hotel is fairly on the new side and has a chic/modern feel to it. The layout seemed to be well thought through and it has been beautifully decorated. My room was just enough space for one person. The location is far enough away from all the noise but close enough to quickly get to the action. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast at the hotel was #1 compared to the other hotels I stayed in during my time in Italy. I would definitely return for another stay here if I am ever back in Florence.

The breakfast was included, and so delicious. We loved the breakfast. "american breakfast" was found here so it was good when we were in italy for a month and missed eggs and bacon. They also had Italian style breakfast. Coffee and water were free around the clock The staff was so nice, they really seemed to be looking out for us as we were young solo travelers, and they were so very helpful and so nice. The room and bathroom beyond met our expectation, it was so clean and so beautiful. The nicest hotel I have ever stayed in.

The location was very good. We could walk in the center, like duomo Florence, just 10 minutes. We could reach other places by bus for 10 minutes. The bus is 2 minutes from the hotel. The host was friendly. We were earlier as the check in time, but we could drop there our luggage and at 11 Am our room was ready. The room was very good, with air conditioning for the hot summer days in Italy. The bed was comfortable with clean sheets. We had every day clean towels. So everything was perfect. We enjoyed our stay at Borgo.

She touched my heart by her hospitality, attention and willingness to help. She prepared for us delicious, generous breakfast, one of the best we've had during our stay in Italy. The hotel is very nice and cozy, the staff super helpful and attentive. Everybody helped us with all our requests. Even we were advised and helped on where to get a Covid test, now that is required in Italy and it’s difficult to get one on time. The location is just a 10-15 min walk to the city center and next to San Lorenzo neighborhood, very lively at night, but the hotel is in a quiet street. The breakfast is fantastic, very complete. We’ll definitely come back here when we are back to Florence.

The room was very basic but was clean and had everything we needed for our three day trip in Florence. The location is near the train station and we were able to walk everywhere. Breakfast was very good and there was a good selection for such a basic hotel in Italy. At night we were able to sit on a terrace and enjoy a drink. There was no issue with noise anywhere in the hotel. Considering how packed Florence was, I felt we got the room for a good price. I would stay there again.

wow incredible experience in the heart of Florence. in our six week trip to Italy this was our favorite hotel. it’s even better in person than in the photos - beautiful sunlit rooms, and the duomo towering above the street as soon as you step outside. the hosts were so lovely and are passionate about welcoming travelers and making them comfortable. the free parking is unbelievable, and will save you 20-30 euro a day. plus you get to have an adventure driving through the ZTL!

This is a hidden gem in the hills of Florence, just 15 minutes drive from the city center. Martina and her husband are perfect hosts, gave us the best tips for restaurants (Zocchi) and ice cream (Badiani). The apartment was spacious, well-equipped, and our terrace let no wish unanswered: full view of the Hills of Tuscanny right in front of our eyes. The pool is amazing. We are often in Italy but this was clearly one of the best experiences.

The staff, the breakfast, the location, the room...everything was perfect! Best cappuccino that we had during our week in Italy and the best breakfast too! 10/10 all around! Easy 10 minute walk to cross the Arno; a bus stop just across the street; grab a pizza across the street; grab a casual lunch or dinner down the street at Pitti Express for a reasonably priced meal. Baglioni Grand Hotel is a safe, centrally located for walking historic Florence Italy. Our room was spacious and clean. The hotel rooms are very quiet.

Location was good, but a little far. Overall, it was a great hotel and was one of four we stayed in while in Italy. I would rate it #1.
