I was surprised by the staff’s offer of getting free passes to Lake Tekapo pools.
I was not informed that I will be given free passes and I should have save almost $150 for the all day pass in the pools.
Maybe next time I will check with the staff before paying for the Lake Tekapo pools.

Super easy to collect keys that were left for us in a secure box. The shared kitchen is large and well equipped. Lovely living space and even with several other couples staying it never felt cramped or busy. Clean shared bathrooms and comfy beds. A lovely stay

We we very disappointed with our stay and would only recommend it as a last resort.
The room was clean and adequate, but was small and pokey, and the long hallways narrow. The view was partially obscured by other buildings.
The hotel restaurant is closed at night, so no in house bar or food.
We found an excellent restaurant in front of the lake.
Overall ,overpriced and barely adequate… there must be somewhere better?

I have been going there since 1987 and it has never lost its charm. The lake is a beautiful turquoise colour. Mount John is a great place to see the Southern Alps. Mount Cook is nearby. There is a ski field in winter. It is an easy drive from Queenstown or Christchurch.

Great place to visit beautiful view.
Great place to visit beautiful view. Colour photos turn out fantastic due to lighting, lake environment colours. Sky at night best I've seen. Rented large house for our family gathering. In advance Contacted Four Square Tekapo they offered to cook chickens, make vegetarian dish, supplied all our food. Also made salads supplied breads, deserts, drinks. We were so pleased with the service this store provided. Perfect. Would of loved to stay longer.

Lake Tekapo is beautiful and very relaxing but only needs a couple of days to be seen thoroughly.
There's a pleasant, flat walk along and above the shoreline that's not too taxing for younger children and there are trails and hot spring pools for older kids/adults. There's also mini golf or ice skating, depending on what time of the year you go.
Shops are very limited and those available are overpriced - if you are staying self-catered, try to bring food with you or eat out. Thoroughly recommend 25 degree - they don't take bookings so you'll need to get there as they open (for dinner) or be prepared to wait/come back later.
Another downside is the inconsiderate behaviour of some of the other tourists - if you're trying to get any decent photos of the Good Shepherd church or stars, you'll need to go very early/very late or find a secluded place for night photos. Some people seemed unaware that this is a spot for limited light so had car headlights on full whilst sitting outside the church - which made our photographers trip a bit wasted.

Lake Tekapo is a lovely town with beautiful views of the mountains and lakes. Lots of lovely walking trails and places to explore in and around the lakes.
There are great cycling trails in the area too.
Mountain Cook in only a short distance away.
There are hot springs and pools to visit and great places to eat at.
We stayed at the Galaxy Boutique Hotel for 2x nights. The staff, service and location far exceeded our expectations and we couldn't recommend this accommodation enough to others.
The staff catered to our every need, even including a delicious cooked breakfast with no additional charge and were absolutely lovely. The room was extremely comfortable but the most incredible part was the views out over Lake Tekapo.
We highly highly recommend this Hotel and will definitely stay again if we are back in Lake Tekapo.
I stayed in one of the cabin rooms with shared bathrooms, and the cabin was very modern and nice, w a comfy bed and space for my luggage. I really liked that it was right next to the lake and the hot pools, and it was really nice to walk the 5-10mins along the lake to the shops for breakfast. I thought this place was really great value! Staff were really helpful and had good recommendations for star gazing tours. Be aware these cabins were right next to the backpackers area, so a little busy.
This is an excellent property with a great view of Lake Tekapo. The property is double glazed and well insulated and catches the sun well so is very warm. The beds were very comfortable and two bath rooms made for a great family stay. The kitchen is well equipped and the fittings throughout the house are all of a high standard. It was only a 10 minute walk down to the waterfront restaurants. Very easy pickup and return of key. The living area is spacious with great views..
This was our 2nd stay within a week and everything about this boutique hotel is exceptional. The staff are warm and welcoming, the rooms are beautiful with endless lake and Mountain views, so close to everything that Lake Tekapo offers and the complimentary breakfast is simply amazing. We plan to stay here every time we visit the area, definitely earned its 5 star rating, an absolute stunner!
Wonderful tiny house with an amazing view of Lake Tekapo. Modern and clean with well-equipped kitchen. Good internet. Shower was fantastic. Skylight above the bed was a bonus -- seeing the southern hemisphere sky on a clear night was fantastic. As others have remarked, do not use GPS mapping to find it, but instead follow the directions given by the host.
Great two bedroom room (605b) with over-roof lake views. Quick walk to the restaurants, shopping, lakefront. Resort bar good for beer/wine but cocktails are best found elsewhere. You won't be able to stop looking at the lake and surrounding mountains regardless of where you stay in Lake Tekapo.
good location with great view of Lake Tekapo, easy parking car , spacious space of staying with family, very nice kitchen with all the practical ware, stove warm up the place very well, bookshelf with different kinds of books and toys provide great time get together
This is my fourth time stopping in Lake Tekapo on my way from Christchurch to Glenorchy. For the location and value, I would choose this motel over the two others where I've stayed in Lake Tekapo. This one was quieter and cleaner than the other two.
Nice basic stay but with a kitchen! The star gazing is unreal and it’s nice to have a porch to do that on. Heated bed, towel rack and bathroom are so nice. And it’s just a few blocks from Lake Tekapo! Super clean with all the necessities!
The Godley Hotel is in the best location imaginable. It is steps away from Lake Tekapo and the Good Shepherd Church; I booked a lake-view room and I could see both from my window.
We loved our stay at Boujee! The accommodation was perfect for our short trip to Lake Tekapo. Check-in was very easy and our hosts were friendly and knowledgeable.
toilets and shower were clean and decent, not like the other shared facilities from other holiday parks. Cabins really keep you warm on freezing cold night!
The location was excellent, with wonderful views of Lake Tekapo & the little church on the lake.
The restaurant at the hotel did an amazing ing breakfast.
