Since we needed to leave the car in the evening at the Tivat airport (the rental does not work 24/7) and needed a place to stay for the night flight. This place made everthing perfect for all of these objectives - 10 minute walk from airport. The place had everything you need - it was very clean and very thought through in details. It definetely had a smart woman touch to everything inside. It was very clean everywhere. Also there was a bonus from host with water, instant coffee, some snacks. The cutlery, kitchenette and other utilities are there for you as well. The host was a very nice man and was always in touch with us to help us out if we had any questions.

Kotor is a beautiful walled town, very clean and full of delightful shops, cafes and restaurants. Very busy when the numerous cruise ships tip their passengers off to take a tour. The church bells ring out giving a wonderful atmosphere. Cats are in many areas with a charity-funded neutering campaign ensuring lots are well fed and cared for.

Tivat is on the Bay of Kotor. The Bay of Kotor is surrounded by rugged mountains which makes the scenery spectacular. Tivat is in a beautiful location and has top-rate shopping, from designer clothes to superyachts.

We loved it, but if you don't like cats don't go!
We loved it, but if you don't like cats don't go! They are everywhere, I've never seen so many in one place in all my life. We found it really heartwarming how well they were treated by both the locals and the tourists. Food stations and little beds for them in the park. Wonderful! Kotor is a stunning old town, full of history and the scenery is breathtaking. We stayed for 4 nights and that was plenty of time to do the all things we wanted. Any longer and we may have been a tiny bit bored, as its such a small place. I would definitely recommend for a short break though.

Stay was for 4 nights and there is plenty to do in that time (boat trips, etc which weren't expensive) along with wandering around the marina. An abundance of restaurants, cafe's and bars too. Local transport (we used taxi's and buses) and these were easy to navigate and cheap. Locals were helpful in explaining which services to use. Budva was a 4 euro bus ride (one way & about 1/2 hour from Tivat) for the day for a less rocky beach. All the beaches we found in Tivat, close by to the hotel, were of rocks or concrete. We found a municipal beach (although I don't think any are 'private') to sunbathe on but bought the sun loungers/parasol combo for the day from a local hotel, which was approx. 30 euros for the day. You could order drinks, which they brought to us but not food. It was a great base for us to explore from and I should do more research when trying somewhere new to make the most of my experience! Would probably stay somewhere different next time but it was very scenic and useful for any boat trips you might want to do. I travelled with my 15 year old son, who is also a foodie, so he enjoyed the restaurants around us. Some were cheaper than others :-)

Kotor is a well preserved historical city with an impressive fortress wall stretching up the mountainside. There are a few interesting churches. Plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants. Some of the restaurants outside the old city walls are fine dining. Kotor attracts large cruise ships, so the town can become inundated by large groups of tourists.

Montenegro has incredible swimming spots. You have the choice of swimming in Boka Bay surrounded by the mountains, or take a short drive to Lustica and swim in the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic Sea. A truly spectacular place to explore!

From THB 4,887 per nightExcellent location, close to Tivat Airport and plenty of restaurants, shopping and bars around. The apartment is right on the waterfront and is beautiful and clean. We stayed in the superior so had a view of the water. The host Isak was very helpful and assisted with any questions we had regarding local sites. Also there is parking right beside the apartment. I would definitely stay here again in the future.
