By far the best place I've stayed in in the Gambia. The owner, Claudette is great, and so are the staff. Everyone was very friendly and extremely helpful. The location is perfect if, like me, you don't like resorts and want a bit of interaction with the local people. It's a residential area, far from the touts, but close enough to walk to the beach or the better restaurants. The room is great, with a well accommodated kitchen and a fridge, hot water always running, nicely decorated and a wonderful sitting area. There's also a shop that sells locally made products, like honey, yogurt and shea butter. Profits go to their organization that helps to cure burns on children. Absolutely recommended!

Pasamos una estancia muy buena. El guesthouse está cerca de la playa de Kololi. Tienes la oportunidad de hacer inmersión cultural gracias a estar en un lugar regentado por una familia Gambiana y a la vez apoyarles. El jardín y la zona exterior es muy bonita y relajante, con sus arboles frutales. El personal fue muy amable, Musa el vigilante muy atento y buen amigo. Nos sentimos muy a gusto y estuvimos 6 noches. Lo recomiendo para una estancia larga.

I felt welcome, safe and well taken care of in an African heritage ambience catering specifically to African diaspora and friends of Africa guests. Cordial and polite interactions with staff and fellow guests, alike. My surprisingly spacious economy rate apartment was highly functional and tastefully furnished: A comfortable home away from home. Maroon Supermarket next door carries all of your familiar supplies from brown bread to Pine Sol and much more. Three minutes walk to the beach for a swim in the morning or entertainment at night. Refreshing pool surrounded by charming pergola apartments. When you don't feel like cooking, the adjacent restaurant will surely satisfy your palate. Overall, highly recomended! Great pool. We enjoyed the swimming everyday. Bedroom and shower were comfortable. Also, the staff were very helpful in making us feel welcome.
