Our hostess was lovely! It was very easy to communicate with her and she went out of her way to make us comfortable. The Villa was charming and our room was great--especially the views of the lake. The table and chairs outside were wonderful to enjoy a glass of wine and the views. The location was perfect --we could easily walk to restaurants and it was so convenient to the ferry to take day trips to Menagio or Bellagio. I would recommend this Villa if you want to experience old world Italian charm.

Beautiful apartment, well appointed, well stocked, breakfast basket provided. Loved the coolness and sound of the fiumelatte flowing into Lake Como just outside the windows.

Everything was splendid! We took the short cut stairs down from the train station and was pleasantly surprised to see Alfina waiting for us out front! The apartment was spacious for 3 girls and it had everything you would need. To top it off, there was wine and breakfast too. The 2 bathrooms were also very well equipped. And everything so clean. If you feel like cooking, there is a grocery store just a short walk away. We were actually not planning to cook but the fully equipped kitchen had everything we needed. Dinner turned out to be a super idea, dishwasher took care of the cleaning up. Alfina leaves the ferry timetables near the door. Going to Bellagio or anywhere else on the lake is a breeze. If you are going far, be sure to check that you have a ferry coming back. We totally recommend Lake Como and especially this apartment in this beautiful town! Wished we had a few more days there.

Mauro's Villa is close enough to the train station and town to be convenient, yet far enough to be a sanctuary from the crowds. Stunning views of the lake and Alps from the balcony and room. Delightful conversations with the hosts and a delicious breakfast. Best shower we've had all trip! Will definitely stay here again when we return.

The owners were lovely and let us leave our bags early, made sure we had everything we needed (including some beautiful dried lavender from the garden on departure) and provided a delicious breakfast with a surprising amount of choice. The shower was nice and the bed was nice and spacious. Good for the price!

Amazing location, super convenient if you do not have a car as it’s a short walk from the train and ferry. The place was beautiful, the pictures don’t do it justice. Amazing view of the lake and outdoor terrace to enjoy your coffee on. Mary and her son were helpful and easy to contact and made our stay super special.

The view is the best you can have in Varenna. The apartment is really beautiful and the bar (where they serve breakfast) below has delicious food.
