It's a new hostel and everything was super clean and fresh. The room was quite cozy, the bed and the locker were very comfortable and easy to use. It was the most soft and comfortable bed/mattress I've had in my entire trip in Vietnam. The owner Gem is a great host, she helped me a lot with booking tours, taxis and even tried to find the best and cheapest options for me and was upset that I didn't warn her earlier about my travel plans so she could have booked me a better, cheaper and more convenient transport. There's a cafe with the same name and they had a 10%discount for the guests from the hostel just need to take the coupon from the counter.

Our cruise guide was very nice, polite, and helpful. The program was very well organised and we had the chance to visit nice places before the tourist crowds were arriving. Visiting Viet Hai village and fish farm was a nice surprise.

The property is located in a beautiful place with view of the lake. It was so quiet and peaceful and the owner was so kind, we really felt like home. She cooked us amazing Vietnamese breakfast everyday. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone coming to cat ba

Wow!!!! This place was perfect!! Great location, super clean, i mean so clean you could literally eat off the floor!! Beautiful smoking lounge on the rooftop. Great location with a short walk to the center. We had breakfast every morning prepared by the owners wife that was absolutely delicious and the highlight was when the owner Mr Throng would come up to your table each morning with his own home brewed fruity Rice wine and pour you a shot with him and say “This is how we say good morning in vietnam” and believe me it was good, so good i asked him for a second round ;) Mr throng was very helpful with booking us an excursion the first day and renting his bike, he even pulled out a map of the island explaining to us in detail what route to take to get to the near by attractions and how long it would take and timed it perfectly so that we would reach the Jetty on the otherside of the island on time for a beautiful sunset. he even advised us about the money exchange rates in Cat ba advising us to try our best to pay by card or local currency and to save our dollars to exchange them in a bigger city so that the we would get a higher rate. his genuine character and warm personality made our stay in Cat ba a memorable one for sure! Would definitely without a doubt recommend Cat ba central homestay to anyone that is planing to visit and would definitely stay here if we ever return to cat bar in the future!!!!

It was located close to the bay (5min walk) but in an alley so there was not too much noise! The place was SO CLEAN and really beautifully decorated !! There are a lot of places close by to eat.

The host, Hung, seems a bit rough at the beginning but he is actually extremely nice and fun when you manage to steal a smile from him! He and his wife were very helpful and kind, and they make the hotel feel a very cozy, family environment. The room and the whole place was spotless clean and in an area that we totally loved: calm, green and at the foot of the mountain. The hotel is, indeed, slightly off the main street in the bay (only 10 mins walking) but we loved it that way and would go back there. Breakfast is very simple (tea/coffee and a sandwich with an omelette and tomatoes), but for what you pay it is already incredible. Hung can also help you with tours, bus tickets and motorbike rental.

This homestay has a comfy and cozy feeling. The host is very nice and friendly. The location is great as it’s near the beach and not too far from the town center.
