Had an amazing stay here complemented by the wonderful owners Margaret and Martin who greeted us with the warmest welcome, they made us feel so at home and the attention to details throughout our stay was so lovely! The breakfast every morning was exceptional and some mornings we enjoyed this whilst sat outside with the most stunning view of the sea, couldn’t recommend staying here enough! We will sure be back when visiting Cornwall ☺️

The room was comfortable, warm and freshly renovated. Check-in and out was easy, and the hosts communicated brilliantly. The location was great. Able to get down to the beach quickly; 10 - 15 minutes walk (we walk quickly...)--albeit there is a fairly steep hill to negotiate, but you have to come up the hill if you want to get anywhere at all from the beach, so it's unavoidable. I'm sure you can easily get a taxi back up if necessary.

Beautiful location with room overlooking Carbis bay. Room was clean, modern, spacious with a very comfy bed and a lovely shower. But above all, it was Ally and Rowan who went out of their way to make our stay so comfortable and pleasant. Really thoughtful and considerate hosts. Would definitely stay again and recommend if visiting St.Ives.

I had a fantastic stay at St Merryn. The tone was set when I was surprised by the beautiful sea view from my room - for a fortnight I enjoyed staring out of my window every night :--) The value for money of this stay is perfect. It is much cheaper than several places in the area, and so yes - there is no breakfast and the room is not cleaned daily (thank goodness, as that is extremely un-ecological), but the owners are very clear about that from the start. I have never stayed somewhere where the owners were so honest about possible shortcomings like not providing breakfast. I've really only experienced positive things about St Merryn: they have super good coffee, oat milk was provided, the location is extremely convenient in terms of public transport, there's a supermarket on the doorstep, it's right next to a beautiful footpath to St Ives/Carbis Bay, the bed is great, there's a bath/shower (what a luxury to be able to take a bath!), the owner is incredibly helpful, and the terrace is a lovely place to have a (self-serve) breakfast in the sun. I'd love to come back :--)

close to bus and train transportation routes to St Ives and area towns and villages. Many choices. Abundant car parking available onsite as required. The room was comfortable and the breakfast abundant.

Right from the moment we walked in, Deb, Paul and Cleo were very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. They gave us great tips for dinner places, hikes right from the B and B. We were upgraded to the Sea View room, which I would highly recommend to book. Oh my gosh, Breakfast was amazing! They were there to greet us when we returned from our first day adventure and were excited to hear our stories.

We enjoyed staying at Thurlestone House very much indeed for the 10 nights we were there. John and Linda could not have made us more welcome and were a fountain of knowledge both on the local area and wider Cornwall so were always willing to help with travel advice and where to go and what to see. The room was very comfortable, quiet and a nice size for the two of us. Breakfasts were very good indeed with a wide choice and always served with a smile. We would have no hesitation in staying at Thurlestone House again when next in the St Ives area.

Everything! Welcoming, charmingly decorated, clean and with an incredibly comfortable bed. Our host was extraordinary : warm, helpful and attentive. Our room overlooked the bay and we loved the view. We appreciated that the location was outside the St Ives bustle, yet a quick and convenient bus ride in. We started out with a rental car, but the location was so convenient to public transportation, that we handed the rental car in. And the beach is a short walk away. The continental breakfast was plentiful and with lots of choice and always with an individually prepared pot of tea! Spend a night or spend a week!!!!
