We had such a lovely and laidback time. If you want the full desert experience with nothing but nature around you, you are at the right place. José was a really friendly, funny and generous host. The place is beautiful, the cabaña was comfortable and clean, the food delicious and we couldn't have wished for anything more. My recommendation would be: stay more than one night ;) it's worth it ¡Muchisimas gracias!

And finally the location itself is a gem far from other hotels. No sonor and visual pollution to enjoy stargazing and landscape view.

The swimming pool is a plus in Villavieja's hot weather. They offer good value tours (with or without guide) to the Desierto de Tatacoa. The restaurant they recommended (Sal si puedes) was very good.

She organized a private tour/driver to the desert for me, Augusto was great! She also organized a private person who was willing to drive me to Neiva after 10pm because I took a nightbus to Cali and the last bus from the village leaves around 6pm. The other room has AC apparently. Pay with cash. A couple if showers and 1 toilet available but I stayed 2 nights and was the only one. Internet was working fine. Walking distance to everything. They offer breakfast but I didn't try. You can put things in the fridge. Coming from Bogota, bus to Aipe then take mototaxi to the river then ferry boat to Villavieja (6am -6pm)

We booked two beds in a dorm and got a full room for ourselves with three double beds (not sure though if there had been other people if they had shared this room with us, in that case it would have been a bit weird). We were even allowed to use the kitchen in the morning even though it wasn’t mentioned on booking.
