Our stay was one of the highlights of our 2-months Indonesia trip. Java Turtle Lodge is an exceptionally beautiful place to stay at where they look after you and want you to have the best experience. Our villa was clean & comfy, showers were hot, food was delicious and the garden is actually my dream garden with a fish pond and hammocks. We had an amazing time on our Sukamade turtle trip. In all honesty, this was the most expensive trip we paid for on our trip, but it was so worth it. First we visited Green Bay for a little hike & swim, then we had a fun 2 hours jeep ride, deep in nature, to Sukamade beach. Later, we went to the beach to spot turtles who might come to lay their eggs. We were not lucky to see one in action, but we followed her way back into the ocean. We spent the night at the national park rangers’ post, which was a minimal room but had everything we needed. And the best thing… we released baby turtles in the morning. Everyone included in this trip was genuine and treated animals fairly. A much recommended stay and trip!

The staff were exceptional, answered all our questions that we had, and assisted us with onward travel. They also booked our Ijen tour for 350K each. The breakfast was really nice. The morning we left, we left very early, before breakfast time, and without asking they packed us a takeaway breakfast which was so nice of them. Definately recommend staying here.

Juda, the owner, helps you with everything, he prepares a little snack at midnight before the Ijen Tour and breakfast in the morning when you come back. I stayed for 8 days and was so well looked after. Don’t miss the turtles but so many other things to see and do. If you want nightlife not for you but if want to connect with nature this is the place. Haddi is doing an amazing job from a fisherman to someone building ecotourism and looking after his home village can’t rate it enough. Food every day is amazing and he rents a scooter as well you can see and do so much. Can’t wait to go back.

They sorted/helped me with my travels while I was there. Infact checked on me even after I had checked out whether or not I had made to the other place. The dormitories are superbly comfortable/air-conned and very neat washrooms/bathrooms. I booked my Mt. Ijen hike with them and everything was sorted right from pick up to drop. :)
