This is the best homestay ever! Yansen and his family already started taking care of us before we even got there. Everybody was super nice and giving good tips (funeral ceremonies, further transport, where to buy postcards;)…). They also provide laundry service and very very good food! We came as strangers and it felt like we left as a part of the family!

We had an amazing 4-days stay at Purabarang. The room is big and clean, with a private bathroom with hot shower, and a nice terrace above the paddy fields. Breakfast was delicious everyday. But mostly, Paulus and his family made us feel at home. Paulus guided us to a funeral ceremony and a day tour in some villages. He speaks very well English so you can learn many things on the Toraja country. He also helped us book transportation and homestay for our next destination. We could rent him scooter to visit the region. We highly recommend this homestay!!

The guest house was a wonderful gem in the middle of Rantepao, conveniently located near all the Tana Toraja points of interest. I had a traditional Torajan home all to myself and it felt so special. The place was extremely clean, had all I needed. It is part of a typical Torajan family's compound. Aldi, the host went out of his way to help and assist me with everything. He even waited for us until late at night (and I felt horrible about it, because it was like 1.30 AM when I arrived), as I was driving from Makasar and arrived later than expected. He organized a 2 day tour with Mr. Ino (also recommended), who showed me around the main sights at VERY reasonable cost. The place was spotless, comfortable, and felt like I was in a documentary. Absolutely recommended. As for Tana Toraja.... it is a unique corner of our world. Make sure you spend at least 2 days there to see everything. Ask for Ino's services.

Ho dato 10 a hendrik e alla sua famiglia perché sono persone davvero splendide Hendrik è una bravissima guida di toraja ma anche di sulawesi. Parla inglese e qualche parola di italiano. È un ottimo referente. Hanno cucinato per noi una sera e mi hanno anche fatto dei regali che custodiro' con cura. Ero un pò scettica all'inizio, ma avevo letto di hendrick e abbiamo voluto fare un'esperienza in una famiglia locale e con loro è stato fantastico, tutto molto pulito e accogliente. La camera è basica, ma ha tutto, addirittura l'acqua calda. Ci avevano spaventato con questa storia dell'acqua, ma noi non abbiamo mai avuto problemi. Provate a stare con loro qualche giorno e a prenotare delle visite per almeno 2gg con hendrik, non ve ne pentirete. Tornerete a casa con milioni di ricordi incredibili e di storie così lontane dal ns modo di vedere le cose. La morte con loro non fa più paura Ho amato Rantepao con tutto il mio cuore
