If you are at all considering booking a hotel in Sorong - stop immediately. Baronda Guest House is most singly the best accommodation you will find in the town. For many reasons. It is very affordable. It is beautiful. The host is absolutely amazing. The breakfast is fab. The area is so local and beautiful and clean. It is close to the airport. There is a shopping centre just a short Grab away. But the absolute highlight was going to the jungle with Fajri for birdwatching. It was both a humbling and incredible experience. Staying in the local village, walking with the local guides (who knows every part of the jungle) and seeing amazing creatures. Fajri made such a special effort with my meal (and difficult dietary requirements). We hope we have made friends forever. Thank you Fajri and team for creating the most amazing memories and one of our trip highlights.

Adel met me at the guest house and kindly took me in her car to the nearest cell phone repair shop, Tops, which was on the corner of the main road and the turnoff to Rumah Marianne. She helped me with translation of the problem and solution to fix my cell phone. As well, she gave me directions to a delicious local seafood restaurant which was close by on the main road. The following morning Adel arranged for a taxi to take me to the airport. The room was comfortable. There was a kitchen available with a hot/cold water dispenser and a washing machine.
