Delightful just about sums it up. Friendly owner on hand to welcome us in to the accompaniment of tuis in the trees - watching them at the feeding station in the garden was very relaxing. Everything felt right for a couple wanting a relaxing stay - the cottage was well equipped and finished with lots of nice touches. The separate garden area was well cared for and provided a lovely sitting out area. Well positioned just outside the town, it made a great base to explore the area from. When I walked into the house it was like arriving "home". The instructions for entering was detailed and easy to follow. After walking in and opening the kitchen window a Tui bird was on a tree just outside singing. This became a morning ritual to open the kitchen windows and let the various bird songs flow inside. The rooms were setup perfectly for our family with thick curtains to keep out the sun if the teenager desired but able to be opened for the younger kids to let the day in. The hosts were wonderfully accommodation in helping to charge our rental EV from the 10A socket. I hope this home is available on our next trip here, the really made it feel like home away from home.

This was an excellent location and the accommodation contained everything you could ever need. Our host was friendly, welcoming and helpful. The room was spotlessly clean and so comfortable. We would definitely recommend it to any travellers visiting the area.

Wow what a place! Thinking of staying in Wellington…don’t skip past it off the ferry and use this place as your base just 30 mins outside the city and its night and day compared to accommodation in the city. The hosts were lovely and very helpful, there were actually birds singing (and feeding) just off the porch! The rooms and layout is very nice, one of the best places we stayed in on our month in NZ! Great recommendation for a restaurant (the Waterfront was v good).
