A recently renovated guest house in Otsu, Koke Musu inn offers outdoor fireplace, private parking and sports facilities. It is situated 12 km from Daigo-ji Temple and provides a shared kitchen. The design and layout of the room was creative and comfortable. Such attention to details - hooks conveniently located, lights at all the right places and all of them are dimmable from a remote control. Very clever use of space to fit in all the amenities. I enjoyed spending time in my room! The common spaces are wonderful too - a brand new pool table at the dining area. Miyu and her husband are very hardworking and talented. I feel so lucky to have been their guest. Highly recommend Koke Musu:Inn to all travellers with a sense of adventure. The inn is a short 15-min walk from the station and is just across Lake Biwa. There are many eateries nearby, as well as convenience stores and supermarkets. Perfect place to spend a few days.

Guesthouse En is a holiday home situated in Maki, Shiga. The nearest station is JR Omi-Hachiman Station, located a 12-minute drive away. A microwave and a toaster can be found in the kitchen. We loved everything 💜 ❤️ Quaint, old house, beautifuly furnished. 6 byclyes available to use during your stay. Beautiful countryside, lovely village 15 mins cycle away....we are not into cycling but really enjoyed it, that say a lot !!! Amazing bamboo forest 10 mins cycling towards village, empty re people....beats any bamboo groove in Kyoto, absolutely STUNNING!!!!! We bought food and cooked at the house. Lots of fresh beef !!!! I can't rate this place highly enough............we stayed end of November, so also had wonderful colours of autumn leaves. We were met at the station, taken to the house and explained in perfect English, how to operate heating, door locks etc...... The owner then took us back to the station....and what surprised us was, he waited till we got into the station and waved us goodbye. 👋 Perfection 🥰 💞 🥰 to the end of a most memorable stay we will never forget. Set within a former residence of local merchant, Inase Otsu Machiya Bed and Breakfast is set in Otsu, 700 metres from Mii-dera Temple. Each room is fitted with a flat-screen TV. A unique place with peaceful atmosphere. I enjoyed my time a lot. Everything was excellent.

Biwako Hanakaido features outdoor and indoor hot-spring baths, 3 dining options and rooms with a balcony and Lake Biwako views. It also has a garden and a sauna, while the lobby offers free WiFi. Lovely food, staff, baths, own private dining room, meticulous service and very clean area. I think it’s almost impossible to top in those regards. The room with its own hotspring was divine. The massage was excellent. Would recommend.

We booked this property with a bit of hesitation as there were very few reviews on booking.com and we didn’t regret it a second! It is in a very peaceful residential area, quiet, restful night’s sleep is guaranteed which was very important to us. The house is warm and cosy as we had a bit of a cold weather it was important. We felt at home and had a great base to explore the city of Kyoto, Otsu and all the surrounding area. There’s everything you would need in a household and more. There’s also a nice garden which we couldn’t use due to the cold weather. The owner is a very sweet attentive lady and a great host who took care of every single need of us, so that we felt like staying in a friend’s house. With or without car this accommodation is a great choice to escape the crowds of Kyoto and yet be in 25 min distance to downtown Kyoto. We stayed there for 10 days and explored the whole area. I cannot recommend Sayo’s place enough! I would love to come again sometime.

I liked the ricefields, the Biwa-Sea, the Mountains and the special spezies of the Mammut trees. ・The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. It is a big house very nice equipped, there is a big kitchen with all you need. There are nice flowers and the linen of the beds is so soft. I felt like at home. And I enjoyed the bath. I recommand very much to stay in this wonderful house with this wonderful family. I would really like to come back one day.

Offering a garden and quiet street view, Guesthouse Shin is located in Omihachiman, 38 km from Sanzen-in Temple and 39 km from Mount Hiei. My wife and I are not young folks anymore. The trip to the bathroom during the night was somewhat difficult for us. The bedroom was on the upper floor in the lovely traditional Japanese house. The narrow stairway was challenging for us. There is ample room downstairs and perhaps owners would accommodate a request to put the bedding there.
