Boasting a garden and views of mountain, Pearl's Homestay Matale is a recently renovated holiday home situated in Matale, 27 km from Kandy City Center Shopping Mall. Breakfast was amazing. Pearl and Ranjan were excellent hosts nothing was too much trouble. They organised a tuk driver for me and Ranjan even came to the train station on my departure. The room was perfect and the bed very comfortable. I would happily recommend this homestay - a perfect retreat.

Featuring a garden, shared lounge and views of river, Riverston Nature Villa is situated in Rattota, 41 km from Kandy City Center Shopping Mall. The super friendly and very communicative owner gave good tips for hiking and showed us a nice waterfall nearby. Our highlight was that he organized a night-out in the village, showing us around the rice fields and the temple and serving us amazing local food in the village in the traditional way. If you are looking for a great local experience in the nature you came to the right place!

Boasting garden views, Wild Glamping Knuckles - Thema Collection features accommodation with a garden and a patio, around 32 km from Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. So peaceful!! This was a true highlight of our trip. The beds in the tents were soooo comfy, we ended up extending for two extra night. We went on a really great hike with our guide Banu too who was so knowledgeable, it really topped off the experience for us. If you’re looking for something off the tourist track and really in nature this is definitely the place to book.

Located within 50 km of Kandy City Center Shopping Mall in Matale, Gammaduwa Bungalow features accommodation with seating area. The property features garden and inner courtyard views. Stayed for 3 nights and this was our favourite place during our Sri Lanka trip. Homely feel and amazing food and service. Enjoyed the library and endless cups of excellent tea. Our room was comfortable and clean, lots of hot water. Wifi worked very well in the library area. Tea tasting was interesting and some nice walks in the area. Thanks to Dave and the staff for a memorable stay :)

Situated in Matale, Palapathwela Ross Estate Junction , The Inn at Matale" provides comfortable accommodation for local and foreign travelers alike. Dilini is an amazing host, she recommended us nice spots in Knuckles Forrest Reserve. I would definitely recommend to stay in Matale for more than 1 night and visit Knuckles as much as possible, the nature is really beautiful (although good to have a driver or a car to visit all the spots). Also, the room was very clean with all the needed facilities. Special thank you to Dilini for making a delicious cappuccino during the breakfast!

Plantation Retreat is tucked away in Kandy, just 400 metres from Patanpaha Bus Stand. It welcomes guests with an outdoor swimming pool and free WiFi access. Sarath and his family are the most welcoming and amiable hosts we had on our journey in Sri Lanka. The lodging is on top of a hill and inside a plantation so you are all surrounded by beautiful nature. As part of the plantation Sarath and his family are growing their own coffee and spices from which Sarath's wife cooked a most delicious breakfast and dinner. We enjoyed our stay at Plantation Retreat very much and will never forget the welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. We can very much recommend a stay here.

Hatale Tea Estate Bungalow is set amidst lush tea plantations just 1 km from Hatale Tea Centre. This elegantly furnished property features an outdoor swimming pool and free Wi-Fi access at all areas. Highlight of my holidays, amazing staff and manager was so helpful. Beautiful gardens and tea factory. Excellent meals, it’s like going back in time. Wonderful.

Overlooking stunning nature views, Strathisla Guest House features an outdoor swimming pool and barbeque facilities. Guests can also enjoy free Wi-Fi access at all areas of the property. This place is magical, it wowed us from the moment we saw it. The location is stunning, right in the middle of the mountain jungle with fascinating flora and fauna. The old colonial style house is soaked in history. Morphti was an amazing host and Mohan is the most amazing cook, we had some exceptional feasts of great Sri Lankan food. We will definitely go back!

Offering a garden and garden view, Irene's Home is located in Matale, 27 km from Kandy City Center Shopping Mall and 28 km from Sri Dalada Maligawa. Loved this place! Everything was perfect! A well preserved “walawwa”, quite comfy and spacious. Can easily accommodate large groups. Would recommend this for anyone who’s looking for a homely place to stay in!
