Bidiyah
Situated in Bidiyah in the Al Sharqiyah region, Rashid Desert Private Camp has a balcony. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. On clear days, guests can head outside to enjoy the luxury tent's outdoor fireplace or simply kick back and relax. It was easy to find the meeting point, where you can leave your car in the shadow (if it’s not 4x4) and easy to contact Rashid or his daughter, they both speak good English and reply fast. Rashid took us to the camp in his car and the ride itself was incredible, as the camp is located deep in the desert (and as budget travelers we enjoyed that the price for the transfer was a bit lower than in many other camps). Inside the camp you can’t ask for more, the tent is really spacious and nicely decorated, there are these little details as some spare chairs in the tent and outside too, so you can enjoy the views from the terrace, big fresh clean towels, additional blankets if you feel cold during the night and the bed itself is extremely comfortable! There is a private bathroom in the tent, which is impeccable, even for taking the shower, the water pressure is fine. The location of the camp is really perfect, as we made a big research before booking it and in the end stayed completely satisfied. Perfect spot for photographers, as you can’t see other camps around (except for one, but pretty far away) and the dunes are just right there. Rashid is a great man and treats his guests as friends, he can make you a good company and feels if you want to stay alone. During our stay we were offered fruits, coffee, tea and some other snacks, that we didn’t expect. And the fire in the night was just great. Highly recommend to stay for at least 2 days.

Shāhiq
Located in Shāhiq in the Al Sharqiyah region, Crescent Desert Private Camp provides accommodation with free private parking. This luxury tent offers a terrace. Outdoor dining is also possible at the luxury tent. We had a magical stay at Crescent Camp. The camp has a smaller amount of tents than others so is more peaceful and a more authentic experience. The tent and beds are clean and comfortable, there is tea, coffee and fruit available 24/7 in the main tent. Dinner and breakfast were lovely and had a variety of options to please everyone. Although some people have mentioned in their reviews that the meals and activities are overpriced, they are more affordable compared to other camps. There are balls and a volleyball net available for children to plan with. We enjoyed a wonderful dune bashing adventure which the whole family loved. It was magical waking at 4am for a bathroom trip and gazing up at the Milky Way above.
Al Wāşil
Set in Al Wāşil in the Al Sharqiyah region, Hamood desert local camp has a balcony and mountain views. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. The accommodation offers airport transfers, while a bicycle rental service is also available. Hamood was a wonderful host ! Friendly, helpful and talkative! He made an exceptional effort to make us feel welcome. The place was comfortable, clean and with a great atmosphere. It’s placed deeper in the desert yet within a possible reach of the 4x4 car. Next to the great dunes on which you can take a fantastic fotos on the sunset !
Al Wāşil
Located 50 km from Wadi Bin Khalid, SAFARI-Glamping offers accommodation in Bidiyah-20 kms inside the desert from the village Al Hawaiyah. SAFARI-Glamping offers two private tents and 2 huts between the dunes in Sharqiyah sands. The camp is great. There are only two tents and you can rent the whole thing for yourself. We really got the experience of being out in the desert alone. The facilities are excellent with a good bathroom and shower and nice bed (no A/C). The tents are in the traditional style as is the dining tent. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Definitely worth waking up for sunset.
Shāhiq
Situated in Shāhiq, Alsarmadi Desert Camp features accommodation with seating area. Boasting full-day security, this property also provides guests with an outdoor fireplace. There is a sun terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. Alsarmadi is a camp with traditional Bedouin-style tent accommodations (with very comfortable Western-style beds!) high in the dunes of the sandy desert near Bidiyyah. It’s an experience, not just a place to stay. Even getting there is an adventure. You can drive yourself in a four-wheel drive, following after the truck sent from the camp to meet you (for free) or you can get a ride in their truck (for a fee, currently 35 rials). Once there, you will be offered Omani coffee, juice, and dates in a traditional carpeted shelter, then you can visit the livestock (Omani sheep, various breeds of goats, chickens, camels and a donkey), pet the baby goats, and take a ride on a camel. The camel riding is expensive but we thought it was worth it. Not as uncomfortable as I had imagined, although there was quite a lurch when the camel got up from kneeling to let us get on. After sunset, we were invited to watch the cooking of supper over an open fire, and we each had a turn to cook spicy flatbread directly on the coals. The food was delicious, with a nice selection of other dishes as well as the traditional food cooked over the fire. At night, the star-gazing was excellent, and the next morning we were surprised to find tracks of many small animals in the sand. So it was a very rich experience, made more memorable by the host, Said, who was very warm and accommodating and encouraged us to take advantage of all the experiences available.

Our stay was amazing, very well built and maintained camp, like a holiday village. Food was amazing, they arrange many activities in the dunes. For us the best one is stargazing. It was so nice and informative.
Felt like home due to Rashids warm hospitality. It is a unique experience here, food was perfect, we had nice chats and excellent Omani coffee with our habibi. We went with Rashid to a beduin camp, where we got a ride on a camel and a glance on the village and the way they live. Thanks a lot habibi and see you hopefully again !
Nice camp just outside the village, overlooking the valley. Easy to reach by 4x4. Tents with good beds and outside toilet and shower. Breakfast and dinner was good and the meat freshly prepared. Especialy the desert tour is a must. They take you further out in the desert with magnificent views, where you experience the magnitude of the place. Staff and owners are really nice and accomodating. Open fire after dinner and fire works and freshly baked cake on New Years eve.
Huge appartement , sterile, marble, 2 bedrooms, kitchen with minimum equipment. Outside a Bedouin tent to eat in. Option to go kart and dune bash . Beautiful surroundings , middle of a village between two sand dunes , walking around in the neighborhood safe and local interesting, camels goats etc
Perfect location deep in the dunes! Private camp only five tents, not a huge desert hotel like other „camps”. Food made by Bashir was very tasty. Owner recommended us a private jeep trip, we saw many camels, wells, beduin village and a mosque in the heart od the desert.
The camp is really in the middle of the desert, with nothing around. It has only few tents (domes) and this makes it very unique. It is very different from the other big camps you see around the desert that looks like a touristic village. The owners were extremely nice and friendly: we stayed 2 nights and for the second one they prepared a special typical dinner for us and we ate it all together under the stars. Unforgettable experience, very recommended!
great host and location. We had a blast when the host saw us in the nearby village and stopped in the middle of the road to have coffee with us through the car window😅
We had a wonderful stay at the camp- the tents are in the desert and are very comfortable and spacious and have a private bathroom. We took a camel ride sunset tour which we enjoyed a lot. As we did not have 4x4 car we got pick up at the nearest village. Hamood was the best host one could imagine- very friendly and hospitable. Communication was very easy. Dinner was excellent as well with option for vegetarians. And pancake with Nutella for breakfast. In the evening we did a campfire. Thank you so much, Hamood, for this wonderful experience!
The location is ideal because it's not too far in the desert, so the transfer is short, but you still feel like you're in a remote part, and the dunes are beautiful. The children had the time of their life sliding in the dunes over and over, and the food (takeaway from a nearby village was pretty good considering there's nothing to cook there).
